Stebel to the rescue!
I have never heard a Stebel horn that I am aware of... but after all the chatter on the boards over the last several years about how great they are... I ordered the equivilent to one for my bike. (I am fairly sure Stebel makes it.)
It will be installed next week. Can't wait.

Stebel to the rescue!
If this horn is that loud... then for certain I can't wait to get it on the bike. ;)
There has been many occassion where a louder horn would have been more effective than the one that comes with the bike.

Stebel to the rescue!

Glad everthing turned out OK for you. I have used my Stebel a couple times because cagers can't stay in their own lane. However, I have used it many times when passing cagers. A quick toot on the Stebel lets them know I'm there and coming by on the left. It gets a little edgy on a two lane highway when someone else decides to pass a string of cars when you in the act of passing them. I only had one try to race me. We were "two up" when I came up behind him in 5th gear at about 75 (speed limit=75) rolled out into the left lane, tooted the Stebel and saw the black smoke start to pour out of the truck I was beginning to pass. Kind of Pi$$ed me off as there was oncoming traffic in the distance. I grabbed the rest of the throttle and was rolling 105 (GPS Max. Speed) when I let off and settled back down to 80.

Upgrading the horn is something that I have still not done! I need to order me one soon.

Stebel to the rescue!
I ride with my thumb on the button all the time and use it a lot! The difference is amazing especially after riding my wife's Ninja. I think it's unsafe to have a regular bike horn. The Stebil will get some attention.

Stebel to the rescue!
One of the best things I've ever invested in. [there it is in the last pic.. right above the stock horn]
I do think of it as an investment when it comes to possibly saving my life.

Stebel to the rescue!
I think that safety items (Stebel horn, run-turn-brake conversion, headlight modulator, etc) should be added to our bikes first. Then comfort (risers, seat upgrade, larger lowers, cruise control, etc) comes after safety, then performance (V&H, UB's, caddmann air, etc)...then bling..... which, BTW, looks great on these fast black Nomads :-)
At least that's the way I've upgraded mine. |
