They are and we did. We also rode many roads in MN, from Welch Village all the way to Wabasha on county roads. Had two lady riders with us also, one was an excellent rider and the other not so much.
Our WI route pretty much kept us between Nelson, Arcadia, Independence and Mondovi. Lots and lots of great county roads to ride in that little area. We did spend a lot of time at stop signs waiting on stragglers.

Gibby, you'll have to take note of of the roads, if you don't mind, so I can write them down for future reference... thanks! Sounds like there are yet some roads I can ride up in that region...

Bluekaw... we'll see you in just a few short days.

I plan being in Anamosa around noon on Thursday. I will try to meet up with the group there. I will be leaving Fairbury, IL around 7-7:30 am for anyone coming through this way and would want to hook up.

We'll see you there Tim. We are probably going to go into the museum at around 12 noon. If for some reason you don't get there until then and don't see us at the Subway... go into the museum. You should find us in there... it isn't that big of a place.

I was just looking over some of the other regional rallies... it appears that with 20-bikes this one will be one of the bigger, if not the biggest, regional rally (as far as attendance.

That is all good... but I may consider splitting the bikes up some for the rides if everyone decides to go.

We will have to give that some thought over the next couple days...

Rode with a group of 22 bikes a couple weeks back. It was a pretty good convoy to start but traffic lights, if you have them, will break it up but we all got reconnected.

Met a big group of sport bikes today - estimate about 40 or so. It was impressive. Usually don't see large groups of sport bikes.

I am not familiar with the area so don't know how big the towns are, but if get split up a bit through them maybe we can reconnect once through

Hey Greg, here is the route that we rode on Saturday. Much of this you would not be riding but you can see the county roads that we traveled, most were awesome. We can talk at the Rally, see ya Thursday a.m.

First off, I want to make sure that everyone knows I am not complaining about too many bikes. The more bikes we have the more fun we can have. I was merely just thinking aloud about the logistics of moving more bikes along the routes. We'll get it done and most should enjoy themselves (I would think).

Over the two days of riding, we mostly avoid any large cities... so stop lights are not the main problem - excluding circumventing Dubuque, IA and going into and leaving Prairie du Chien (the only two larger cities we will encounter).

I have already considered this problem and will re-route us around Dubuque to avoid having to go through too many lights there; however that will be impossible to avoid them altogether -- especially in PDC and two other small towns we will go through.

The second issue will be fuel-stops. On the routes scheduled, there are only a few opportunities to get fuel at a time when most would need it... Fueling twenty bikes takes a longer time; along with maneuvering twenty-bikes to the pumps reasonably quick (especially at the stations we will have to stop at). Unfortunately, I cannot change that situation.

The third issue simply is that it takes a lot longer for twenty bikes to ride a route than ten bikes do. It is just the nature of the game. While the routes have a fair amount of roads that are easy (and boring) to get us to the "better" sections throughout the area; there are quite a few turn-offs onto twisty-roads (not so boring). It is the twisty-road sections where a larger group starts to lose time.

The fourth issue will be twenty+ people ordering and eating lunch. That naturally will take longer also.

Overall, day-two's route is only 270 miles; however it will take all-day to ride it based on the intermittent twisted-roads, and the longer time it takes with more bikes.

Again, we'll just have to see how the group does with regard to keeping-pace. If it runs a bit slow, then we'll have to slice-off some of the route "on the fly", once we see how the group moves along

For certain, we don't want to ride beyond anyone's skill-level for safety. We want everyone to have a great, and safe two-days of riding.

I will cut-off sections of the route as we go to make sure we hit three sections: CR-S, Mindoro Cut, and Wildcat Mountain. While these sections are relatively short, they are worth riding.

We'll see everyone there in three-days!

Yeah Dave we are fired up here and ready to go!! Took a ride out to the Loess Hills Saturday to get ready for the Rally. What time do you think you will get into Ankeny? I was thinking if you came in early enough, the Village Inn is across the street from the Kum n Go that we are meeting at. You might be ready for some BnG by the time you roll into town!!
Just a thought!

I'm ready! Got 3 full days' work to go but you know I'd rather be waxing and packing!

Getting a new back tread on today (going darkside) and just picked up a new helmet Saturday.

See you all on Friday morning, in Savanna. -C
