Nrider,
Yes I have read the law. All 17 pages of it. Nowhere does it suggest racial profiling. It talks about lawful stops where the officer becomes concerned about potential residency. Heck, most of the law is about employers and their hiring of illegal's.

I too have read the law. I guess that puts me ahead of most of those in the present federal administration.

What pisses me off about SB 1070 is it is not even in effect yet and people are yelling racial discrimination.
Part of the reason the law was passed was to stop some of the cities in AZ from being sanctuary cities. Phoenix was very proud of being one till 3 of their officers were killed by illegals who had been deported multiple times. Most of the police unions in the state support it. Most of the people from the government and from other states do not have a clue what they are talking about when it comes to our problem, and most have not even read the bill. It only brings AZ law into compliance with what is required at the Federal level now. Those of us in AZ live with the problem every day. |

Waterman, it is perfectly clear. The only ones protesting it are taking it to a what if its raining, or its snowing, or if the moon is full.... any possible spin to stop what is right and already a Federal Law that is not being inforced.
Which of course is why we are all talking about Arizona having a set of brass ones to be one of the first of many states to stand up to legal and constitutional obligations our Federal Government has besides driving us into deeper into dept. This is more than just about illegal immigration, its about states rights, the Constitution and all the other foundation stones of America being let down or re-read by someone trying to change them without changing them. They say "That isnt really what they meant, if they were hear now they would say its was made to evolve"..... and they keep on ticking their way with nothing to stop them. It is Fedral law already...... whats the problem? They are Breaking the Federal Law or ignoring it..... where is that being addressed? Where's the uproar over that?
