I rented a trailer for two Volusias last summer, bought these wheel chocks, they worked great. http://www.harborfreight.com/motorcy...ock-96349.html
(After we got home I decided to never trailer again, just didn't like it so I bought the Nomad for longer trips instead.)

I had motorcycles in pick-up beds and open utility trailers way before I ever heard of wheel chocks. Just use 4 good ropes with cargo knots or substitute cargo straps. Don't bottom out the shocks when you tighten the ties or you'll probably be getting new shocks soon.

Well the wheels chocks (mounted on a wood base) come in handy in my garage also, I can have both bikes straight up next to each other, takes up less room.

This may be a dumb question but how do you gat a bike the size of a Nomad out of the wheel chock ?
Do you just pull it backwards or what?

Just pull back. They go into and come out of the chocks pretty easily.

I knew something wasn't right about my post. What I get for posting half asleep, I guess. I changed my original post. Thanks.

Mounting the wheel chock to a sheet of 3/4" plywood works well for holding it in the trailer or on the garage floor. Backing the bike out of the chock isn;t that hard to do.

check Lowe's (or a Tractor Supply if one is near you), they have the utility trailers with the back gate/ramp for just over $500, plenty big enough and sturdy to haul a bike on..I had one a few years ago for my Goldwing and it towed great.

What? I heard they sell them at enormous discounts to H.O.G. members... Surely there most be a couple of trade-ins hanging around.

Since Harleys don't break down, you can probably pick up an unused trailer cheap.
