Traffic Signal Triggering

I'll wait one light if I know the intersection is a problem if I can't avoid it, might give it a second chance in a strange area, then I am on my way either way.

I saw a person from ODOT get asked about this on a local news program saying the magnets would need to be much larger than you would want on the bike to make any difference, while mentioning positioning yourself near to a corner of the sensor loop can help a little. He did also mention they would come out to adjust problem intersections if asked.

Traffic Signal Triggering

Yeah, sometime trafic lights can be a problem.
There is another trick but it only works in wormer weather when you don't wear gloves. Trafic lights can be triggered by clapping your hands. Clap twice then wait 2 secongs and clap twice again. Sudden change in air pressure will slightly change magnetic flux in the detector circuit and the computer will think is a 2 axle vehicle that just passed over the sensor.
I do it every time and never had a problem.

No replies since my yesterdays post.
Disclamer: I WAS KIDDING ABOUT CLAPING YOUR HANDS.
It will not help.
