Well done Al. All though I'm not a fan of the shark nose fairing, I do believe that it definitely looks better on the Nomad than it does on the HD. Job well done.

Question : So how does it feel compared to the others ? Meaning , not being bolted to the forks . I'm giving you a big thumbs up on this one . I had a fairing but sold it for the windshield . Now after seeing this I may just go back .

If you look at his bike from the side on page 2, look at the bottom of the fairing in relation to the bottom of the tank, and you'll see the amount you have to raise it. One thing I can say is the lines of the fairing fit perfectly the Nomad, alot better than the HDs in my opinion.... And a big 'Thank You' to Monkeyman for inspiring us with the photos!

I cut the nose bracket and leaned it back about 5 degrees. I then had to modify again the crash bar brackets. Now its perfectly aligned with the tank like it should be and the headlight is now centered in it's adjustment. I will post new pictures tomorrow if it quits raining. When I get e sound system dialed in I will be really happy but am planning a Sunday ride as its to be near 60. I will report back but so far its awesome.

After reading this thread more than once , I'm convinced to go this route . Modifying the brackets are not a problem and taking the time isn't either since I have 6 months of winter to cope with .
I really didn't like all the access weight on the bars that my old one had . I'm sure this set up will help it become more balanced . I'm looking forward to a decent stereo instead of Waring ear buds when I take long trips . And a lot less wind in the face would be a plus as well . I have this thread saved to use it as a reference but making it a sticky would help us all . Good call

I have noticed with the frame mounted fairings that I've rode on at the dealerships that they seem to track just a touch slower in high speed turns but are more stable and smoother when going fast.
Not having that added weight on the handlebars is definitely a plus.... My idiot brother had a 70's model Norton Commando with a windjammer, saddlebags and a trunk. I hated the style, but that bike tracked like it was on rails, loved sitting behind the large windshield. My ElectraGlide had more buffeting around the hands and shoulders, and the very top of the head. You could smoke a cigarette sitting behind the windjammer....

Ok, Here is the original placement.
Now the 5 degrees back. Tank lines up much better and you can see how the graphic would carry through the tank if I wanted to. My 2 gauges in the dash - I think a compass & USB charger in the others. Just because.

Now THATS WHAT I'M TALKIN' ABOUT! GREAT JOB ALWHITE! That looks like a factory option!
I'm gonna get a piece of 1/8" rubber and build like a small skirt to go between the fork tubes and the nose of the inside of fairing, just to close up the gap a little, just for visual appearance

Suttle, but yes it flows much better tilted back. It is now begging for two tone or graphics that flow from the fairing to the tank and repeated on the bag sides.
