Bike wouldn't start the night before last. I put it on a charger the next morning for 45 minutes and it started. Damn. Anyway, it's getting replaced tomorrow under warranty. The service manager says that the stock batteries only last 2-3 years. Understand the warranty on the battery is 2 years (bike is 3 years). How convenient. Better now than on the road.

I went "Tru-gel" after install of the R-link security system (major battery sucker).

Gel has some limitations that the BMW folk don't seem to swarm to them. AGM seems the way to go, but that is what I had. Whatever battery BMW uses from the factory does not seem to last long. Most people seem to get the Westco or Oddessey. Since it's under warranty, I'll take the stocker, but down the road, if I still have the bike, I'll get something better.
