Bryce Canyon is special. All those shots look great. Of course that has a lot to do with the photographer 8-)

Have fun on your way home.

Hey I hope someone reads this before you all leave for home.
Please take care going home, ride safe and make sure someone starts a thread telling everyone you got home alright, safe and sound. We all want to know everyone is OK.

I'm in Pocatello, Idaho...I've left two phone messages for Bud, but have yet to hear from him. I was hoping to hook up with him for dinner and shoot the chit a bit while I'm in his neighborhood.

I took a great ride out of SLC up through Logan, then over the pass on 89 North to Bear Lake....what a GREAT ride that turned out to be. Had lunch in Bear Lake, stopped at all the historical sites...even in the little museum in Montpelier...all way cool.

My GPS (Zumo 550) had been really acting up for quite some time and finally bit the big one this morning. It won't even power up now. As soon as I'm home I'll be sending it in for repairs as I'll need it this July for the Canadian Rockies run to Canmore!

Pocatello, Bear Lake, Montpelier, etc. I bet you've been to Paris, too....

Now that the GPS broke down on you, it might take a couple days longer to get back home/work, if you know what I mean ;-)

Enjoy!

So Terry, John, Ross, Marcia and I rode to Durango CO today. Hotter than crap through Monument Valley. Tomorrow, John and Terry head toward Arkansas. Ross, Marcia and I will head up the million dollar highway. We will part ways up north and I will end up denver at my sisters for a few days.

Ya, he got me as I was leaving the water and still 50 miles from home. Called ahead and had Annie thaw out a couple of steaks. Had those, beans and asparagus with a bottle of red wine for dinner.

Introduced Kris to Pin Keepers. I thought everyone knew about those little jewels.

I decided to lead him through town back to his motel. He stopped me as I was pulling out of the drive to let me know that one of my spotlights was out. At the first stop sign he pulls up next to me to let me know that my tail light was out!! Holly cow, I'm falling apart right in front of him.

We made it to his motel and I got home without being rear ended. (rode the brake in traffic to stay lit and visible). Luckilly I have spare bulbs in the garage so the tail light is back in working order but I need to get a new bulb for the spot.

It was great seeing Kris.

Rode 452 miles today from Pocatello, ID to Pendleton, OR...all excruciating slab riding...just painful. The wind bounces you all around, the speed limit is 75, so you are operating at the bikes upper limitations all day long...and the scenery totally sucked until Baker City (300+ miles). Once you get to La Grande, the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest makes for some good stuff. But...I'm here safe...and I make my last push for home tomorrow. I turned 50,000 miles at the bottom of Deadman's Pass just coming into Pendleton and yep, I got the pic!! I will do a final report from home and start working on a video from all of my photos, but it has been an epic trip without a doubt. I added a couple photos from yesterday in the link....and one from my short but sweet visit at Bud's place, where he showed me not only a great BBQ, but the inner workings of the Idaho Jack Adaptor Factory!

I woke up in Pendleton, OR this morning looking forward to getting home...a 305 mile jaunt that would get me there by mid afternoon. Ten days on the road are great and all...but your own bed always sounds good by then. I started the bike and heard one of the lifters sticking...making a real loud tick, tick, tick sound....not at all normal. After a few miles it quieted down...only to start ticking again later in the day. In Ellensburg, I called Brad for some technical advice. He told me to run by an auto parts store and pick up some stuff to pour in the oil. The store was about a mile off I-90. I poured it in, and before I was back to the freeway the lifter was working normally again. I just love when things work that easy!

From there it was a pretty straight forward run over Snoqualmie Pass and back into the traffic congestion I love so much. I made it home SAFELY about 3:00pm, grabbed a quick shower and was getting some much needed attention from the missus shortly thereafter...! Amazingly, we (I) only got wet for about 20 minutes just north of Susanville on our way down. Other than that it was dry and sunny...even for my ride over the pass into Seattle! We just got done looking at all my great photos on my home PC...some really good stuff! I had such a great time on this trip....truly epic in every way. Thanks to Charlie for riding down with me....Jared for riding to SLC with me....and Bud for finally answering his phone! Thanks to everyone else as well for sharing your booze, cigars, knowledge and companionship. I always enjoy myself at these rallies and hope to attend many more. Up next....the Canadian Rockies Rally in July...!!
