Are there any camping areas in the area? .I would like to camp out .Try to save some money.

There are many camping places in Eureka Springs but it can be real cool in the mountains in early may. You can search Eureka Springs and find a lot of them but maybe some of the people from that area will jump in here and tell you a lot more than I can but if you can't find what you want just PM me and I will try and find you something.

The Kettle Campground is just across the street from the Rider's Rest Motel.

Thanks I will check with the kettle Camground .How long do you think it would take to drive from the houston area and what would be the best route to go?

I would figure on 2 days to get there. From Houston I would come up Hwy 59 to Nacogdoches and pick up 259 to Oklahoma Hwy 63. Hang a left on 63 to Talihina, OK and spend the night there. Get up the next day and ride the Talimena Skyway east to Mena, AR. Pick up AR Hwy 71 north in Mena and ride it to just north of Waldron AR. There I would hang a right on Hwy 23 and ride it all the way into Eureka Springs. But that is just me. I prefer the more senic routes. Coming home I would most likely ride the 4-lanes and get home in 1-650 mile day. If I had plenty of time I would return in 2 days.

My kids are taking my skydiving tomorrow (weather permitting) for my birthday then we will stay at Gulfport tomorrow night. We will leave there early Sunday for Daytona. Are any of you going to bike week? We will be staying at the Ramada across the street from the speedway.

Just made reservations at Bikers Rest for Room No. 7 on the 8th and 9th. I will hopefully be getting there shortly after lunch on Friday and stay Saturday and then leave when everyone else leaves on Sunday. Looking forward to meeting y'all. Just had my Nad a week and already put over 500 miles on her. I'll probably be driving up on my bike (over 400 miles and almost 8 hours), but just curious on how many will bike and how far you got to drive and how many will trailer? Talk to ya later, gotta go put some more miles on her so I won't look like a rookie in Eureka Springs. I vacationed there about 16 years ago. Great scenery and love those mountains.

We are going on the 7th from Terry, MS. We will be in room 10 at Rider's Rest. We rode to Bikes Blues BBQ at Fayettville, AR a couple of years ago and it is a full day ride from central MS.

Looking forward to meeting ya Zoom. I've been through Terry many times, lived in South Jackson and Clinton for nearly 10 years after graduating from Miss. College in 1988. I'll be going to Eureka Springs alone. I don't know if I want to put the Mrs.'s life in my hands, being a first-time biker. She's excited for me. She has the same passion for horses as I have for bikes. Our dream vacation would be going to New Mexico, Wyoming, Montana, etc. and she would go on a cattle drive and I would trailer my bike and while she went horse-riding I would just take off in the mountains riding and maybe do some fishing. Actually, we're only a few years from doing this. Made my reservations today, luckily, they still had a room, but I don't know if they have many more left. Was debating on whether to trailer my bike or ride. Didn't know if I would be in the mood for riding after just ending a 7 or 8 hour ride, but I don't think I will ever get out of the mood for riding. So if I don't see ya before then, I'll see ya in May, I'll only be a few rooms down. Figured there's no way I could make Custer. We vacation in Gulf Shores for 4 or 5 days every early June. But I think Eureka Springs will be a blast and the Mrs. gave me her blessing and told me to have fun.

Zoom, I'll probably leave at 4 or 5 am on Friday. MapQuest says 8 hours from Yazoo City, I can probably beat that by a tad.
