Norm, Thanks I always considered myself to be the Great One. And then this hockey player comes along, well that's another story.
I missed your first question about the communicators, the answer is no I don't have them, never have thought that I needed them. I don't have a radio or gps either, never felt the need for anything while traveling around.
Secondly... I have looked at the helmet above and I can't make out what the image on it is supposed to be..?

Ive used 1/2 helmet a lot of the time weather permitting. In the cooler days I use a Simpson full face. That helmet got trashed during my mishap in the spring. I'll be replacing it with another full face and will wear it more often, even on the warmer days. It made a huge difference in the outcome of my injuries.

I just retired my KBC Racer 1 Full Face helmets.

I now have a Bell Star Full Face Helmet, A Bell Revolver Modular Helmet which shares the same face shields, A HJC IS-Max BT modular helmet, and a Vega bare bones half helmet that I only use when it is extremely hot out and I am touring a park or battlefield.

Ponch, finally went on good trip yesterday with the helmet. It is definately quieter than my old helmet. Almost can't hear the stereo.

For some reason mine is very noisy, but the thing is, I am probably in the wind stream more than you for any given bike, so that may affect the outcome. The funny thing is, if I flip up the visor, the wind noise goes away for the most part.

I think there are some things that matter. Wearing a DOT beanie will not protect the face, so wearing a full face helment would protect more as would a modular. Outside of that, not all helmets are made the same or offer the same features. Ventilation matters, fit for a given shape of head, noise, and weight to only name a few. What is difficult to know is how some of these factors play out without wearing one for a test ride.

Both are matt black.
