i run my own specialist concreting company which covers concreting, concrete cutting and grinding as well as refinishing and fault diagnosis and repairs. before that i worked for 12 years in a concrete and garden supplies yard which involved a lot of heavy machinery operation. i worked my way from the bottom to assistant manager before getting a little cranky with the new owners and walking out. i have never looked back and love working for myself..

I've been in the printing trade for approx. 35 yrs. holding mult. tickets in the different types of printing. {collator operator putting multiple copy business forms together, sheet fed offset, flexographic, web offset . I've seemed to have found my home working in the newspaper end of the trade, where I've been printing Vancouver's two daily papers for the last 24 years. Hopefully "pulling the pin" in the next 6-8 yrs.

I'm in the insurance business for 32 yrs now, love what I do for a living and love to ride. The highlight of this last summer was our ride to Sturgis and the 8 days I spent with my brother (Doctorgski) out there. Now that was some great riding. We also did some great riding here in Illinois this last fall. Looking forward to the next riding season.

Technical Consultant (IT) for a large healthcare provider in Dallas. Handle Exchange 2007 support, SCCM and SMS deployments, Active Directory management, etc.

Before that I worked at two small hospitals in NW Washington State, first as all-around Desktop Support before moving on to Operations Manager at a different hospital. Got offered this position out-of-the-blue back in May.

Before that, spent 10 years in the Navy - USS Fletcher (DD-992) in Pearl Harbor, HI, then VAQ-129, NAS Whidbey Is, WA.

Thanks for going along with the thread everyone,
It is amazing to read about how different we all are in our daily lives, but when we as riders come together on a forum, or at a rally, that we become 1..This is interesting reading for me..again, Thanks

IT to pay the bills - I'm a programmer/analyst at the University of Saskatchewan. I'm also a drummer, and play weekends with a few local bands. In my spare time, I teach scuba through a local technical college (that's me teaching a class in my signature pic at the left).

Wow, I feel like a pup! Reading this how everyone is 20 years at this or that. I worked as a heavy equipment operator until I was 25, started at the tender age of 14. Then I went to school. IT since then. Engineer is my title, for a major healthcare IT company. I actually do everything. I am their main network admin, I admin their virtual systems environment, and write code. Yeah, I'm a geek.

I'm always amazed at what we all do for a living. KawaNOW's got some of the best members I know.... we all work for a living, we don't just sit around bullying whole towns all day, like the movies suggest.

What I do is boring to many, but it's what I have a passion for.

I've been in IT for various healthcare facilities for the past 22 years. I've worked as a Programmer Analyst, DBA, Data Center Manager, etc., etc. Worked in just about every language there is. Also, for the last 12 years, I've worked on the side designing, coding and implementing websites.

After being in charge of coding and maintaining all the financial software in SQL (payroll, time & attendance, AP, GL) at a major Tyler hospital for the last 6 years, they offered me a full-time position in Marketing as the Webmaster/Web Technologist. They must have known all of the late night upgrades and multiple server administration duties have been taking it's toll on me. Making sure 4,500 employees get paid and have their T&A work accurately will definately take its' toll after a while.

I took the job 8 months ago and have not looked back. I am currently over the web technology of Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals & Clinics in Tyler, Texas as webmaster... trying to get our web technology up and into the 22nd century.

I oversee three main websites, www.tmfhs.org , www.casattexas.org and www.tmfneuro.org

I also oversee multiple individual physician websites at TMF.

And for what it's worth....I hold a bachelor's and master's degree from the University of Texas at Tyler in Industrial Technology.

WOW, this thread isn't very old, but it's really long. You don't check in for a day and---BOOM! Started out in the early 70's working for a Honda motorcycle dealership and playing R&R while attending Purdue. Started teaching at Purdue (2 years) and a local high school for about 15 years and retired because I got really tired of being told what to do by people who didn't have a clue??

Opened up an AutoCad dealership and did that for 10 years until the bottom dropped out the the market and all the margins were gone. So I decided to go back into teaching and have been doing it this time for 11 years, teaching AutoCad, Inventor, 3D-Studio and Revit; thus the user name. Still play in a R&R band, the same guys I played with in college some 35 years ago.

For the past 22 years, I've been in the tool & die business (official title is "Tooling Tech-6"). I write CNC programs for, and use the CNC equipment. A lot of folks think it's tedious work, but I enjoy every minute of it. I especially enjoy the EDM wire machine. The 2 softwares I use most are Auto-Cad, and Feature-Cam. Before that, I was a certified diesel mechanic (Uncle Sam's Sea-Bees). I love working on things, and figuring out what will and won't work.
