That fairing auction is only the outer part, you will need an inner fairing to make it complete. The inner fairing is what attaches to the bike, and the outer fairing bolts to it, then you will also require a windscreen as well.

I just got off the phone with a cousin of mine and they said if I get it to Minneapolis they will take it home for me in a container in a couple of weeks FOC!
I just emailed the eBay seller to see what it would cost to send it to there, so that should be ok even if its UPS, do you think?
What do you think is the max I should bid for this fairing?
The auction is closing in an hour from now, getting that nervousy feeling

You gave me a fright there! No I just double checked and its for both the outer and inner but you are right about the screen.
Have another look;

You got yourself a bargain, thats a beauty with very light damage. Not too often you see both inner and outer go for that price.

Congrats!!!!

Now it's time for me to start keeping an eye out for one. Maybe I'll get lucky and find a good deal that I can't pass up.

Are there certain models of fairings that I should look for?

Yup. Those will work well if you don't mind a bit of body work. They'll never go for a buck a piece, though.

Thanks ringadingh for ALL the help on making the decision in the first place to go for the HD fairing

Sure a little luck goes a long way as well

Many thanks mobandy and good luck with your search

I think we all make our own luck and I always quote Gary Player who once said after winning two major golf tournaments back to back and being asked by a reporter how he accounted for his lucky winning streak replied "the more I practice the luckier I get!"

Anytime, Im sure it will look great once your finished, now you will need a windsheild to fit, some instruments, a stereo, speakers, and some brackets to mount it unless you make your own. It never stops does it.

I know they won't go for a buck, that's just starting bid. I know a guy that can paint and do body work, just didn't know how extensive this looks to be. Doesn't appear to be too much, but I don't know anything about body work and paint.

I'm going to watch the listings over the next couple of days and see how high the price gets.
