Heck, come on up to NE Colorado, we could really have a convoy by the time we get to NC. Not to bad of a trip, 1400 miles each way. Could make that in 2 days (not much fun that way). ::)

Ells, OP (further east), yourself, Dan, and others along the way.
Heck yeah buddy! I just need to know your route. I will see about rounding up the boys in the Iowa area and head south and meet up with ya somewhere. Now that I know it is in DG for sure I am now in planning mode.

Let's see....

Need rails for the saddlebags and the rear fender, probably GPS. and gas.

Heck yes. We will have to see if we can get a small convoy going into DG? I think the most was 12 for Custer.

Lets see, GPS - Check, Rails - Have a trunk and rack so Check, Gas - Credit card so Check.

Place to meet up - more than likely Kansas City region. As this gets closer (hmm 18 months away seems like a long time but I know that it will fly by) we will definately have to make more plans.

Hey CycleCat, if you don't like the weather in this area just stick around it's bound to change, where else can it be 35 at midnight and then 80 at noon?
Lots of places. The biggest weather change I have seen is 80 one day, 36 hrs later -20. ::) ::)

Don't worry about it... after you hang around here a bit, you'll find that no one has any feathers left to ruffle!
Don't worry about that. We have been trying to ruffle BD's feathers for sometime. However, he keeps them well ironed and uses plenty of starch.

Oh cry me a river!

I'm just busting your chops. It's 2000 miles each way for me, and I plan to do it in 4 days. You're 6 hours west of me. Leave a day early, come meet me in PHX, and we'll gather up whoever else wants to go and we'll take either I-10 along the Gulf Coast or I-40 across New Mexico, etc. Come on, we'll have a blast!
If ya'll decide on I-10, we can meet up about 30 miles from my place between Sorrento and Laplace. That would be great.

I figured it would be KC or maybe St. Joe area. Now I have to get with the north central guys to see who is planning on going and find a gathering point to see which will be closer/easier for me to meet up with. KC is a straight shot on the super slab. Man I can't wait.

On my map Robbinsville is really a small town less than 1000 in population, with all the interest maybe a larger site would be more approiate. Then again I'm not familiar with the area. Just an observation.
