We live overlooking the desert that's about a quarter mile away. That being said it's not uncommon to see coyotes trotting down the street of even in the back yard. Some are unusually large. It's against the law to discharge any type of firearm in the city, even a pellet gun. So I make it a point to throw rocks and yell at these critters to keep them wary of the crazy bastard that throws rocks at them and hopefully afraid of every other human. Small dogs and cats if not kept close will disappear. You would think they would do a better job on the jack rabbits but they don't.

I'm just amazed they have not discovered the bounty that resides in a garbage can.

Oh, and yes we get mountain lions in town occasionally. The last time it happened a guy left his house in the morning headed for work except when he opened his car there was a mountain lion sitting in it. (Didn't roll up the windows.) Now that was a real circus. Subdivision locked down all morning until they got him.

Down here we have plenty of coyotes and I have seen 3 in the last 2 weeks crossing the roads in our neighborhood. We live in a rural area with lots of fields and woods and we have several critters that will get in the garbage. I am an avid hunter and just bought a new shotgun this year but unless the coyote is tearing up the deer on the hunting land I let them walk. They are really cool to watch from a tree stand, like the red foxes that roam the green fields. Like some others here, I used to shoot about anything when I was younger just to be able to shoot a gun. I have mellowed a lot and now I only shoot what I need to. Except the little bastard squirrels in the woods behind my house. I hate those things!

Yeah, it was a cool movie. Had Charles Brolin (? or something like that) in it. I'm pretty sure we did go to the moon. Either that or someone else left thier moon rover there cause sats are still taking pictures of it. We can't go back though. The aliens have warned us to stay away. I saw it on You Tube so it must be true.

Got a new gun coming in, I'm picking it up tomorrow. A VZ-58. Czeck army surplus (google it). 7.62x39 semi auto, folding stock, NOT an AK-47, comes with four 30 round mags and... a BAYONET! (YEE HAW)
Now, as Elmer Fudd would say..."Wherz dat wascally coyote at"

..Well I'll still hunt coyotes --preferably from an airplane ! But only during winter months when the hide is worth $$..or anytime a livestock producer is losing his animals to them !

As for "Re-introduced Predators"... I know of ranchers that are losing livestock and pets, and dum-assed citizens that are losing children and family members to -those ! ....that has to do with "those" that -aim- to eventually remove all citizens from the target areas...then establish --'resort's" for themselves, after all the peasants are removed ..of course the Gov Employees will be privileged to live in homes "out there"..so that they can oversee the "work gang laborer's" that will be required !.as "the smirking international elite" fly private jets in to their private estates.. ! (guess I should shut up..befor I reveal to much info)

They'll break into a house's attic to nest. My dad had an issue with them because of that. I used a 22 pellet rifle to tame the population. 41 squirrels in 8 months. That ended the problem.

They banned those VZ's here a few months ago, and it caused such a ruckus that they are now reviewing it.

They can be quite destructive, especially if they get in the attic, homes have been destroyed by them.
