I vote for early August. You dont want the Beartooth to be iffy....it's too spectacular.

I'm thinking the last full week of June 19-25. That has generally been some of the calmer weather during that time of year. Late July to early August you start talking about Monsoon season. That was the reason we held the rally in Estes in late June.

Late June I wouldn't think would be a bad time for Beartooth Pass as well. Maybe Dave can help us out on that. Plus early August is Sturgis time. People are traveling in and out of that region either on their way to Sturgis or home.

Grant and I did this ride about a year ago. Last week of July. It was like spring time. I would not go in June.
I want to ride somewhere in the west next year but doing all of this again in less then 2 years is a no go for me. I might ride through but not as a destination.

Sounds like early August takes care of the weather and everyone. I will call the lodge.

Cliff you better visit us. It would not be the same without you. There is so many things to see within riding distance I would be surprised if you saw it all.

There would be more than the Beartooth pass. If we stayed in Red Lodge , there is Yellowstone through Cooke City, Thermopolis to the south east has hot springs, Cody has plenty to do and see , and Cooney reservoir is close too. Way more than you could do and see in a week.

As far as weather and the Beartooth, Even in late July you need a jacket to ride it, gets pretty nippy up there.

Joel...we have 10 months per year wetter than your typical August.

1.5" in a month is a monsoon? That is like saying the Broncos are a Championship team

That may be so Greg, but you don't get the severe weather that we do. Baseball hail is not uncommon during the monsoon.

Next year the Sturgis rally will be Aug 8-14. I know prices go up in that part of the country to capitalize on the biker traffic. Let's try to stay well ahead of the rally.
