I have that 10% speedo error too so it would be nice if that would sort itself with another tyre.
If you want to give it a try................ look at the shoulder of the tires, you want one with a round shoulder, not one that is squared off. A lot of folks run a 195/60-16 on the 1600, but a lot of us run a 205/60-16, and a 205 is as wide as you can go. Not all 205s are the same width. My previous 205 was a Goodyear TripleTred and I had about .090" (2.3mm) clearance with the swing arm. The tire I run now is the same size, but a Yokohama Avid Envigor, and I only have about .030" (0.8mm) clearance with the swing arm. The 205 will correct the speedo to about 4 or 5% off. Here's a link to the tire I run now............

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes

And here's a pic of the Yokohama before I installed it, notice how round the profile is of the tire. I like it way better than the Goodyear it replaced, and I really liked the Goodyear.

First, I much prefer "Victory MAN". Second, I HAVE ridden with some 1800 Gold Wings (the only Wings that handle better than a couch). I never said I rode "the ultimate performance touring machine" (I think that's the BMW logo). I believe I keep saying the handling on my bike is VERY good (if you don't believe me, ride one someday). Will my bike outhandle a Wing? Depends on the rider. I think, with equal riders, I could at least keep up. (The Wing motor is lower but mine is narrower.)

I think Blowndodge ran a light truck tire on his Nomad.

Ok, I have ridden a XC and yes it handles well. As for it keeping up with a Wing. Not a chance. I know a couple of people at a rally a few years back. He had a Vision and one of the Goldwing folks wanted to try it out. They are pretty close to the same riding skills if the Goldwing owner isn't just a hair better. They swapped bikes because the Goldwing owner wanted to try out and see if it was everything he had heard. The Goldwing still walked away from the Vision.

Another friend had a Wing, bought a Connie and then just bought a new XC. That is the bike I rode. I asked him to compare the bikes. The Connie was still the fastest (duh). The Wing was overall faster and better according to him but he wanted a V-twin again since his significant other would no longer ride passenger as she had her own bike now.

If I wanted a "Touring" Bike I would still look at the Wing but the XCT is a close 2nd as I still prefer the V-Twin. However, I'm still in wait and see mode to see what Kawasaki does because I'm in no hurry to get rid of the Nomad. I still love the bike and it will do the speed limit anywhere.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.
On my second Hankook, only got 20000 miles on first one but got started with wrong psi and wore the center prematurely. My current one only has about 7000 on it and I don't think its going go be much better. By having 28 psi its wearing evenly. For the good part....I really cannot tell the difference in the way this tire handles from a mt. The way I describe the way it handles is it handles like a well worn mt (with center worn down). I tow a trailer without issues and drag floorboards occasionally without issues.

Cliff, what do you run for psi in the car tire/
Do you change the pressure when two up or pulling your trailer?
Just curious.

Tim's seen my Yoko in person..................... but I run 42 psi in it all the time. It don't like lower pressures (the GYTT liked 27~28 psi). The only pressure I change due to load variants is the shocks and rebound.

I will go so far as to say that tire Cliff uses looks enough like a MC tire to interest me, especially now that he says he runs the same 42 psi all the time.

So with 42lbs. in it does it seem to be wearing even? or just down the middle?

Thanks for your input. Much obliged. Sounds like a pretty good deal. Half the price of the Dunlop and almost the same mileage. Guess I'll give that a go this time around. I've always run 28 psi in my Dunlop too.
