The current plan is to come through Niagara Falls (Canada). After the rally, we are going to head to Acadia National Park for a few days. Likely do a whale watching tour and perhaps a lighthouse tour as well. Haven't planned the the route home yet - but I don't think it will include the Florida Keys.
Here's a bit of the after rally plan: To Acadia

With just a little routing you could color in the whole northwest.

Yeah, we were originally planning on just doing a whirlwind ride to get all the states, but we wouldn't really see much. Decided to focus on just really exploring a few states instead.

In Maine : when you get to Augusta take route 3 to Belfast (nice fast 2 lane road) then follow route 1 to Bucksport and Ellsworth then route 3 to Bar Harbor. https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Augu...44.3876119!3e0 Belfast has a nice little harbor in downtown we usually take a break at. Bucksport has the Penobscot Narrows Bridge https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attracti...ect_Maine.html OR you could use this on the way home. In New Hampshire - take Bear Notch Road (instead of West Side Road) https://www.google.com/maps/dir/43.9...a=!4m2!4m1!3e0 In Vermont: If you're not staying in Burlington for the night, I would suggest this variation. https://www.google.com/maps/dir/43.9...32!1m0!1m0!3e0 I offer these to you in humbleness. I know you did not ask for my input but, I am offering it. Thank You ,Shawn

Thanks, for the suggestions. I haven't really planned stops, was looking for some interesting roads. We'll explore a little before getting to Bar Harbor - hoping to have smaller crowds and maybe cheaper hotels if we are not arriving on the weekend.

We do almost all of our riding in these 3 states (Me., NH., Vt.). Let me know if I can be of help in any way. Roads, motels, places to eat, or whatever...
This site has great information as well http://www.newenglandriders.org/BestEasternMC.htm

The Penobscot Narrows Bridge definitely looks like a nice change.
Will have to firm up if we are going to visit Shelburne or not. If not, could easily add the VT change. Bear Notch - this is definitely the kind of thing a local would know better. Thanks again.

Don't see Ruth and myself on the list yet. I did finalize the reservation. We will be arriving Monday (slight possibility of Sunday), one bike, double room, leaving on Friday. Looking forward to a great time with old friends and new!

Starting to panic, got here in Denmark last night and it looks that the vessel will not sail until Saturday or Sunday. 7-8 days to sail across the Atlantic depending where they start fishing in Canadian Waters. The vessel can hold 720-740 meteric tones of shrimp. Doesn't look good now but things can change. I'll have a better understanding of what's going on in a couple of weeks.

Hope you can make it. I'm so ready for a long bike ride. I enjoy the rides to and from the rally as much as the rally. I wouldn't mind if a few procrastinators show up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Man I hope so,Just passing the Orkney islands 7.5 knot tide running here, the vessel slowed down to 4 knots. They should start fishing in Canadian Waters sometime on the 18. I am expecting a long trip and I am afraid I will have to cancel my reservations the end of this month,Murphy's Law. When you want a long deployment its short and when you want a short deployment its long. Oh well just a few more trips to,retirement again.
