I missed this too. By the time I got to training on the Boy Scout rifle range I had already been schooled for many years by my father, who had been one of the best shots in his British army regiment. The troop leader gave me the name and my dad used it on occasion out hunting as well. In my girl chasing days my buddies used to say from a mile away I could spot a........, ah never mind. With my eyes these days the groups aren't so tight. The guys at the club are just as likely to name me Sprayalottalead.

My very sweet and loving little sister "Tootsie", and I were not allowed to listen to the radio when we were small..(my step father was a preacher, and a religious zelot)..so we smuggled into the house a small radio my grandmother gave us...I was about 7 and lil sis was about 4..she would sneak into my room at nite and we would lay in my bed and very quietly listen to that radio....
Around midnite every nite a program came on..that had no DJ and no commercials..and just played one song after another...about every half hour a voice came on saying "you are listinging to music payed by Silent Sam"
So now you know..lil sis passed away from cancer in 1992

When I first signed up for VolusiaRiders.com (my 1st board), I hadn't even bought a bike yet and was signed to to take the MSF class. So I kinda wanted something to reflect my newbie status...hence "Rookie." But "Rookie" was already taken. The TN came from, well....you figure it out. As time progressed though and I've become more experienced, I'm still ok with it...because I feel like being a good rider should always be about learning and I hope I never feel like I know all there is to know!

My forum name is the one I use and created when I joined VolusiaRiders after I bought my C50, and I'm from SC so. I was still a C50 owner when I joined this site so I kept the same name. I have another forum name/handle that I've used since the 90's but internet evidence has built up with that name lol

Thanks for the compliment..that old bible thumper would whip me and my big brother with a big razor-strap sized belt...and we refused to make a sound...but my little sis would cry when he was doing it to us,.. She was a wonderful and loving lady all her life !

Since I was about 12 years old I played guitar. One of my first real guitars was an "Ovation" guitar, and it was pretty expensive at the time. My friends that I played in a guitar trio began calling my "Ovationdave", and it stuck. Now all my friends from when I was a kid can remember my e-mail address and facebook name. So its just easy for me to remember now!

Nice story Sam, you must miss her a lot.....
