Rubber Counter Balancers
I am getting ready to order the parts I need to change out the rubber counter balancers on my 02 Nad. I know a couple guys have done this and was looking for any help I could get
I specifically need to know the part numbers. I have found the numbers I need at Ron Ayers but not sure about the dampers themselves. There appears to be two types. How many of each do I need to order ? Also I take it I need two gaskets. Does anyone have a parts list for this job ? Is there anything else I may want to change out since I already have it opened up ? Thanks everyone for your help. Mojo Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Rubber Counter Balancers
I found the parts I needed.
I am going to do a photo guide on this job and then ship it off to Gadget for inclusion on his website. There are several of us who have had to do this repair and it would be great to have a parts list with numbers plus a step by step photo guide of the job itself. I will go ahead and do this to save a few Nomad brothers some time if they end up having to do this work. Thanks gang, Mojo |

Rubber Counter Balancers
Here are the part Nos.
11061-1079 Gasket 11061-1080 Gasket 92160-1725 1/2 of the Dampeners (requires 4) 92160-1726 1/2 of the Dampeners (requires 4) Going to check www.cycle-parts.com for prices. or www.bikebandit.com Also I ordered the collar/bushing that the balancer gear rides on as well...and that part no. is....92143-1821. By the way.....Why are your changing out the rubber dampers if I may ask. My bike was/is giving me a vibration that I can feel in the seat and I have traced it to the lower left/rear side of the engine. It has this irritating vibration at higher RPM and can be felt while parked and raising the RPM....but it does smooth out at an even higher RPM that is higher than cruising speed on the highway. Anyway...I've ordered and recieved those parts...but have not done the work as I'm not real real sure it's the problem and also did not want to open the crank case and maybe void my warranty.........I probable need to go see the Dealer......But have been avoiding at all means to do so.

Rubber Counter Balancers
They had some issues with the rubber counter balancers with some of the early 2000, 01, 02 and 03 engines.
The typical noise you will hear when your balancer's are shot is a clunking noise at very low RPM and as you let the clutch out. Once the clutch is out and you give the bike throttle the noise goes away and the engine smooths out. That's what has been explained to me anyways. For $ 54 bucks I figured why not give it a shot. It worked for others who had this same annoying noise / problem. Doesn't seem to be mileage related either. Some have the problem at 30 - 40 K miles. Others like myself have experienced it at 10 K miles. I will let everyone know how it went and if it fixed the problem. Chris Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Did you ever end up replacing the rubber dampers and fix your vibration?
