ABS Lowers

Someone on here a while back made some lowers with a vacuum machine and mold. I haven't seen anymore about it but I thought he was going to come up with a price to sell them. They looked good, painted to match the bike. Found it searching back to 3 Mar 09 for:
Anyone interested in how-to-build ABS Lowers?
It was xncrman

Not sure if this link to it works:

Here's a youtube video that shows an easy way to make a MACHINE:

Yeah...I wrote to him in March '09 and expressed an interest. He followed up with a PM and said he was working on it and to check back in a month or so. I wrote again in April and haven't heard back. They were pretty good looking and he was toying with a very good price. I'm still very interested and I hope the winter finds him with some time to continue work on this project. I know quite a few members were interested and replied to the thread.

I think I found my new project for this winter

I had no idea vacuum forming could be so easy. I don't know what I'm going to make yet, but I'm going to make something!!

If you do, post an update. I'm curious about doing it myself.

ABS Lowers

I have to apologize to everyone, it's been a hard year since I posted the ABS lowers project. My buddy was trying to gouge me on production so I thought I would make my own thermal for oven and make them cheaper. But this year has seen plenty bad times up here in Michigan. No housing manufacturing so I made no money on Corian countertops this year. Spent $10G helping my son gain 50/50 custody of his two boys 5 & 6 after mom decided to leave him while in Kuwait in 2008. Twelve months later the papers still aren't signed. My mother passed away this fall and I lost my part time job of four years. Life can suck!

Thanks to Bobby's email and this post I am going to get back out in shop and try to put my oven together. I am going to try and round up the new style Nomad engine guards along with HD guards and do some redesigning to make lowers to fit. I also have been working on some wild concepts that others may enjoy.

So thanks to all for thinking about the lowers again. Good luck if you work to make your own oven. And here is a pic again of the lowers on my bike. Yes, they work great. I did get to do some road testing this year.

Take it day by day my friend. And the lowers might be a good way to make some extra money.

John, I'm sorry to hear you're having troubles, but I'm glad that you've had time to ride and that you're back with us now. May the new year bring better things for you and yours.

Hope 2010 is a much better year for you and your family. When you can make the lowers a reality for others I would be very interested in a pair. God Bless

John, I'm interested in seeing some more picture of your existing model too.

I made a little (6"x6") vacuum box this week, but just to play around. What ever your new lowers look like, I'm sure I'll be intersted in a pair also. Good luck!
