Helmet buffet
Replaced my Nomad 1600 windshield a few years ago with a shield that was 2 inches higher than what was on it ( 22 inches if I remember right). It blocked the wind well but sometimes had sun glare and moisture problems since I had to look thru the shield. Measured nose high and cut about 4 inches off of the shield. I can see over the shield and rides nice until I get up to 55 or 60 and then I get helmet shake. I cut a 1 inch gap in the lower part of the windshield and this helped some. Nomad has the stock fork deflectors so I was thinking about making some larger ones to see if that cures the shakes. Stock ones seem sorta small. Anyone ever try this?

Its common practice on many bikes with the lower fork deflectors.

Thanks for the link redjay. I had a VStar prior to the Nomad and had Memphis Shades lowers on it that looked similar to what is shown in the video. Might be worth a try.

If you have a Nomad you should already have lowers ? Just make those stock lowers larger and use the stock Kawasaki brackets to mount them.

I made a set of lowers similar to the youtube video sans some slight modification since I have highway lights and bar. Started with 13 x 6 inch material minus some trimming and shaping and mounted using the stock lowers brackets. Rode the bike today and the new lowers are much better. Not much wind buffet at all.
