Fairing Headlight Opening Photo

I'm looking into installing a new headlight and keep the front ring of the fairing intact. Looking at the prices of all the pieces I need, however, kinda leads me to trimming the headlight opening to fit the Nomad headlight. Does anyone who has trimmed their faring to fit the stock headlight have a picture of what the opening looks like after trimming their fairing? Just trying to get an idea of how much to trim and how to go about it.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Pete

I didn't need to trim anything and the fit is pretty tight

That looks good but you got a Tsukayu fairing if I remember right. I forgot to mention I bought a Harley fairing which has the ring where the headlight mounts.

Thanks.

Actually isn't that a radio caddy fairing rather than a Tsukayu?

Radio Caddy

Couldn't you just get a bucket and trim off an HD Roadking and replace it?

That's what I was thinking but all the parts you need are over $200 even on ebay unless I can find them really cheap somewhere.

I definitely will do that since I also want to install a fairing bra instead of painting the fairing and it really needs the light fixture to hold the front end down tight.

Yes, that's great. That's what I was looking for. I missed that on his site.

Thanks for the link.

I don't have a picture of just the headlight but my HD was cut by the privous owner and looks like the one on Gadget's page. Sure was a snap to install. Now I can remove it with just four bolts and replace the windshield at will.

"Inexpensive harley" is an oxymoron.... :). I've got a couple of local mom and pop shops I've still got to try. Maybe I'll have some luck there.

Any pictures of your bracket arrangement by any chance. I'm still thinking about how I'll approach that problem....

How is this one.

The mounting bracket was made by Lee Sido. It mounts to the forks using the same four bolts that are used for the windshield. It mounts to the Harley outer fairing using the four points on the fairing and the three points at the windshield. A perfect fit, easy to install or remove.
