Fuel Tank Seperator Tubes

2005 1600 California Model
There are 2 lines that come out of the right rear of the fuel tank and run to a cannister. I had to cut them when I took the tank off. Has anyone replaced them with regular line. If so, what size and where did you get it?
This is the one thing holding up putting the bike back together. I have the real tubes on order from 2 different sources but they are back ordered.

Why did you have to cut them? You could get a couple of vacuum hose barbed couplers and connect them back up. If I remember correctly, when I took my canister off, the hoses are 2 different diameters, maybe 1/4" and 5/16".

I only saw one Cali bike so far and that stuff came off. I don't recall any size difference but 1/4" = 6mm and 5/16" = 8 mm and any autoparts store will have soft fuel line, versus hi psi line cheap. NAPA AutoZone, and etc will have rolls of the stuff.

Those lines can be difficult to get off but they will come off. Sorry for your problem Charlie. Should be able to get some fuel lines at any auto parts store as Mac says.

What ever you put back on add a drop of engine oil to the tubings so next time they will pull off. I have broken these lines pulling on them hard. I think the line was so new or that the paint wern't dry is a cause.

Barbed connectors can work if you can get any.

Another way is to scrap the CO canister, cap off the return at the tank, and let the over flow work like it does on a non cali bike. Unless yer a' planning to move south...

Just got notified that the backorder has been filled and the tubes are on their way. I should be up and running just in time to go to Canada with Netnorske.

Yer waiting for a back order? Are you friggin out of yer alledged mind? It's tubing Man! Common ordinary fuel line tubing, any auto parts store worth 2 cents will stock by the spoolfull.

Most any common small engine shops will have in transparent colors too. Just think pretty pink and or royal blue!

I run that pink stuff on Liberty, and full of gas it looks GOLD!

The blue was so sexy I bought that a bit over sized for the plug wires, and ran them thru it for more insulation, and of course the royal blue wires on a flag bike.

Yah really, a real man can use pink. I expect to see it when I see you at Tim Hortons that Saturday AM. Of course I will have to peek under your tank, with your permission of course.

ballast, yeah I read you don't know what yer doing, that don't make a bit of difference to me..

THIS IS RIDIN SEASON!

I am the sensitive type and it hurts to know you ain't ridin because yer waitin for tubin'

Maybe you don't understand that when I tell 'How To', that is the best I can do in most cases.. Then anything else I say is just off the wall crap, and lies.

I pick on guys as if they were my very own brothers, so I picked on you in that way. Todd and BD are better at it than I am, but that just makes a goal fer me.
