Autotune installed

Decided to take the plunge and purchase the Autotune module for the PC5 on my Vaquero. I've only done about 40 miles so far, but can see and feel the changes it is making to my map. Tomorrow I'm doing a 250 mile ride that should really tweek it good. I'll let you know the results...

Autotune is the most over used and abused piece of garbage equipment ever introduced to the recording industry!
Oops! Sorry, knee jerk reaction related to a different Autotune and how it relates to my industry! :)

Oh the stories I could tell...and the names I could name... if I wasn't contractually bound from speaking about them.

I only know about Cher, DJ Lubel and T Pain. I kinda think it sounds cool.

You just need a couple beers to loosen your tongue a bit.

Be sure and let us know how you like it after your 250 mile ride. I think it will do a lot of good.

You know Rhys, when it first came out, it had a valid application. You could have a singer in the studio who would lay down a nearly perfect take, but was slightly flat on one or two notes. We could correct the pitch on those notes and save the track. Much easier than punching in and out, and a huge time saver.

But then people started using it live and to push no talent hacks into the public eye. Real musicians (not necessarily the ones who get all of the press and money), loath it. I loathe how it is being used in the industry today.
But I maintain that the absolute best, most skilled and talented musicians are not anyone you've ever heard of. They are probably working in the hardware store and gigging in small clubs on the weekends. Success does not equal talent. At least not any more.
Now that my crack has hijacked this thread to some degree, we return you to our regularly scheduled program discussing the Autotune module on a Vaquero.

Isn't that what Pro Tools is for?

I saw a Pro Tools demo years ago where the guy took a popular song where he sung, and not perfectly, and applied the pop stars pitch and style/cadence to his voice. It was him singing, but it wasn't. He did the same thing with drums. He applied the feel of one drummer and applied it to another. It's getting to be make believe anymore. When I took drum lessons as a kid, my teacher, who was a Berklee graduate, could listen to Rush and transpose the drum music as he was listening to it and then play it for me. He's not a famous drummer, but incredibly talented, so I agree with you about talent.

Apparently so. Never heard of him (until now) and can't stand opera but that was great.
