Been riding a couple times a month in Nov, Dec, Jan, and Feb.
Pretty mild winter around here. Just short jaunts to the bike shop or out to eat with my brother. Nice to get out in the "groove" and get the oil/grease moving. But can't wait to do some longer trips.

We finally reached the 40's here in Ohio. However, the snow is melting and the roads are soaked still...not to mention the driveway is a sheet of ice.

Just got home from a really cool Teddy Bear Run. I met some guys and gals in Everett about 9:00 this morning and we took a long route down through the Snoqualmie Valley through Issaquah...then Hwy 18 to Auburn. Once there...we met in a parking lot with about 150 other bikes....but it was well organized, with parking lot attendants telling you where to park and such.
At 12:30 sharp....the parade of bikes headed out, with Auburn Police stopping traffic at every intersection to allow the train of bikes to run continuous. We did about an 8 mile route that ended at Auburn General Hospital. It was cool.....the Seattle Cossacks were there performing on their old HD's....the Teddybears got piled into containers....and the hospital hosted a great buffet with hamburgers, hotdogs, chili, chips, cookies, drinks, etc. It was a great ride and the weather was awesome. I had to keep turning down my heated gear and actually turned it off at one point! I turned it back on though for the run back north to Everett on 167/405/5.... It felt good to get out for a good cause and hang with lots of other riders. I forgot my camera or I would have posted some pics.... . There were some other Vulcans, but no other Nomad riders that I could ambush..... !

Its good to see that some of have gotten out for a ride. Today was our first day in the low 30's in a while. We are expecting a few warmer days and some rain this week, if it washes things down a bit I'll try to at least run around the block.

Have been fortunate here in north Alabama and have been able to ride at least 4 or 5 days out of each month this winter. Rode today but only a short ride to the store. Temps this week will be in the 60s all week and will reach almost 70 by this coming weekend.

We ended up taking the scenic route (240 miles round trip) to Vantage to see the petrified trees in Ginkgo State park. Temps were great, however the wind kicked up and riding in 40-50 mph gusts makes for some "white knuckle" riding.
It was still a very nice ride with the exception of about 40 miles or so. |
