NO credit cards

I don't know how many have been to Lambert's but they don't take credit cards. Just didn't want anyone to be surprised, see y'all soon.

Thanks Jim, I love Lamberts, but haven't been there in a long time and did not know they didn't take credit cards.

I found their web site and verified this. Funny thing is that they actually will take checks. That just blows me away!

My guess is they don't want to pay the 3% on the credit card swipe.

I think you're correct Mitch. The Blue Bonnet Cafe in Marble Falls, Texas doesn't take credit either. And there's no sign on the door telling a patron of that fact either. I think it stems from original mom and pop owners not wanting to pay the credit surcharge.

Could also stem from the original mom and pop not paying all of their taxes either.

Good point Glenn but 3% on a week of their sales is quite a bit of money. Also, the servers pay taxes on all of the credit card sales, and so do the owners. I'm not accusing Lambert's of not paying their income taxes, just thinking out loud.
