PowerCommander III Question

:) Does anyone have any comparison of the TFI versus the PowerCommander. With the PC III having several dyno tunes already available from Dynojet, can anyone comment as to how well their Nomad runs with the downloaded tunes? This is my first post, and I will not get my 2003 until the weather improves. I'm really excited and I'm trying to get a lot of things ready for the riding season. Thanks, and to all a Happy New Year.

PowerCommander III Question

...welcome to the forum from western Canada. There has been quite a bit of discussion on PC111 vs TFI here. For ease of install and setup, the TFI would probably be the best. They work very well and many here have them. I'm not real familiar with them as I have a PC111. My bike came with it installed and except for minor tweaking to lean out my engine in all ranges, it has performed very well. PC111 is the only one that has the ability to lean out the mixture. However, most have found that these engines are too lean in stock form and need to have fuel added to make them run cooler. (less pinging). If the idea of playing with maps appeals to you, then PC111's are great. Others will chime in with more opinions and ideas.
Again, welcome to the forum and you might let us know where you are located.

PowerCommander III Question

Welcome from Canada; all the power modules work well if they are set up right but the PCIII probably has the most variation allowed between lean and rich.

PowerCommander III Question

Just to add to the confusion, I am considering getting a fuel processer as well. When I was looking at Vance and Hines website I came across fuel pack http://www.fuelpakfi.com/. This module does state it can add and decrease the fuel, and you don't need a computer to set the settings. Any thoughts on this module?

PowerCommander III Question

Not familiar with that one jon, but I can assure you that you will not have an occasion to ever want less fuel in a Nomad.....they come running about as lean as you can imagine
