Spring Rally Itinerary

Friday Night:

We will plan on having dinner somewhere as a group at 7:00 p.m. then a social hour afterward back at the hotel or a local establishment (we can determine that later).

Saturday:

Meet in parking lot around 8:30ish, with KSU at 9:00 for our ride. As it stands now, we are looking at a 250-300 mile ride which would be pretty much all day with a few breaks thrown in.

If we want to cut it into two rides, we can do that with a longer/shorter ride.

Saturday night:

We will have a meal together in the area with door prizes and such. Following this, return to the hotel and have some down time on the hotel grounds. There is some seating down by the river that I'm sure would be a fine spot to go.

Sunday:

Leave for home.

If you have any comments or suggestions for the itinerary, please let me know. Anyone in the area that has knowledge of some good restaurants or watering holes, let us know and we can decide. I will do some online searching also.

Remember, this is EVERYONE'S ride and rally, not just mine. I'm just throwing out ideas and hoping someone reads my words. I just want to see some old friends (the first head coach I worked with is coming in on his Venture for this too) and make some new ones.

What time to you figure on pulling out from Crystal River? I'll probably head up the night before and meet you at a rest area north of Gainesville...Got to check the map...

Well, Mike and Natalie are coming too, so I guess we will have to see what time they can get here. I'm figuring between 6-7 a.m. will put us up there by late afternoon.

Coach you are the Man , that sounds GREAT there are several nice restaurants in Helen we are supposed to ride over there at the end of this month, while I'm there I'll try to check-out them to make sure they can accommodate a crowd of ? Bikers . [GOOSE]

If anybody is planning on coming in Thurs and/or staying over Sunday, let me know and we can plan a ride.
Depending on how many this might be, can possibly line up some super cheap sleeping accommodations.

DaBull, I am going to be doing some research on it online and Goose is going over later this month to scope things out. I'm sure Bob would be willing to go see what is up too. He is in the area.

http://www.biggdaddys.com/home.html Big Daddy's is about a 1/2 mile away with pub food.

There are a few other places nearby, but reviews are mixed.

Joe is the map guru. He has us to Valdosta on I-75 then up 129 and 441 to Helen, that is the basic route (I know Joe, it is different but that will put Mike in the ball park).

Hey Coach, Ran across this web site [ http://www.helencvb.com/members/dining/ ] while tring to remember a place in Helen where we had a Wedding Reception there once, anyway it shows dining in Helen, the place I was tring to remember was a (WestFamilyRestaurant I think :-/) a couple miles out of Helen, we were on our way there (Helen) and on the way on hwy348 while pulling off for a rest and to enjoy the view , an unmarried couple that was with us who had invited their pastor surprised us with their wedding , anyway it's not a pub type restaurant but it is a country style buffet , the staff there were more than friendly to the BIKER CROWD ( about 20 of us ) and I might add the food was GREAT also :)! I've eaten there before also, about a year ago, and also thought the food was pretty good too (buffet style). Couldn't remember the name of it until I saw you mention it.
