trip in sept
I know this area is for trip threads but im workn it backwards. Im planing a trip from Rome Ga. to Helen Ga. There is a beer festival going on at the time im going. I will be staying the night so i would like to get there around 2pm for check in. Im going to leave early that morning. Im looking to spend several hours on my bike even though Helen is only two hours or so away. Any suggestions on which way to go , any places to swing by on the way up?

Helen is really a nice place to visit. My wife and I went a couple of years back but we went in the car. There is a great buffet restaurant just out of Helen. I suggest eating there. It is only a couple of miles out of town. I will try and find the name of it and pass along. It is on the main road leaving Helen heading toward Dahlonega.

How about the "West Family Restaurant" On GA75 heading into Cleveland from Helen. I spent a bit of time in Helen and it is a great ride. The is a big bike gathering this coming weekend. Lots of great places to eat. Try the "Farmers Market" for the breakfast buffet not to bad. When I travel up there 365/23 to 358 and then into Helen but I live on the east side of town.

Helen has at least two good motorcycle leather stores...shop both before purchasing.

Hwy 348, the Richard B. Russell Parkway is a nice twisty ride. It is just slightly northwest of Helen.
