7 DUI convictions? That guy shouldn't be allowed to ride a bicycle, let alone drive an automobile. His license was suspended, so he shouldn't have even been on the road. This guy deserves some prison time to reflect on his selfish behavior.

Jackasses all of them....we have seen people die here from accidents caused by
someone with 3-5 DUI's. The only way to stop them in to keep them in jail.

My solution to a problem like that guy is much quicker, final, and inexpensive.

It isn't real popular with the PC crowd... but as I said... quick, final, and inexpensive.

Our problem is that there are no harsh consequences for DUI, in part because prisons are full of really bad guys. IMHO a DUI should get a MANDATORY 1 year in prison and CONFISCATION of the vehicle that the offense was committed in. No matter if it is a new Mecedes with a loan.,,,,,it belongs to the State.

Second offense should be mandatory 5 years.

In other words, we must make the punishment painful enough to make people stop and think. Society does not have the stomach for it though.

If we sumarilly executed drunks at the side of the road we also would not have a DUI problem.
