Calling Netnorske-Thermometer

Hi Kris,

I bought one of those little thermomters you linked me to. I was wondering if you stuck it on to the outside of the windshield or somehow turned it around so you could stick it on the inside?

I was thinking I could flip the glass/acrylic part around if I removed the little two screws but I don't have a small enough screwdriver...I will get one next time at the local Home Depot.

In the interim I stuck it to the back of my mirror.

Cool little gadget...nice to have when trying to figure out if the sheen on the road is frozen.

Greg,
I just stuck it right in the lower middle on the outside. You can see it in the photos below. It stays on there good....even at high speed....but you might be able to turn that thing around like you mentioned....

Rick,
It's a digital thermometer....very cheap on Ebay. You can get one right here. They work great and stay on even at high speed.

I've been thinking about a thermometer, and I remembered reading on here in the old days (KawaNOW days) that some of you had a thermometer I thought was pretty cool, so I did a search and found this thread about the very thermometer I am considering. So my question to you that have (or had) this thermometer is.......... What do you think about it now, and what was your experience with it? It's only a few bucks, but I still would like some opinions on it.

Cliff,
I thought it worked great, right up until I was in a car wash one day spaying off the worst of the road grime and accidentally blew it right off my windscreen. It flew a ways, hit the deck, and was DOA when I picked it up.

Before it died, I tried taking it apart to flip it around, but that is not possible...it only works in that one configuration. IMHO, its well worth the few dollars they are asking for the thing....

This one has a swiveling bar that you can you on either side of the windscreen.....

That's a lot fancier than the one I use.

Probably has a different reading too.

Yeah Bob, I went ahead and ordered me one too, should be here Thursday. I'm assuming that since it is reversible, that there is a thru hole where the suction cup mounts, so I'm planning on using a nylon screw to mount it with instead of the suction cup.

Maybe I'm not getting this................... of all the "gauges" you can have on a motorcycle why would you want a outside temp gauge? does one really need help to determine if the outside temperature is acceptable to ride in?
