Nov 2010 - Elections
this may be old news, but the need to take action still remains and without reminders some may accept the situation as "normal" and fail to take action.
Take a look at this and just remember elections in Nov. 2010. U.S. House & Senate have voted themselves $4,700 and $5,300 raises. 1. They voted to not give you a S.S. Cost of living raise in 2010 and 2011. 2.. Your Medicaid premiums will go up $285.60 for the 2-years and You will not get the 3% COLA: $660/yr. Your total 2-yr loss and cost is -$1,600 or -$3,200 for husband and wife. 3. Over 2-yrs they each get $10,000 4. Do you feel SCREWED? 5. Will they have your cost of drugs - doctor fees - local taxes - food, etc., increase? NO WAY . They have a raise and better benefits. Why care about you? You never did anything about it in the past. You obviously are too stupid or don't care. 6.. Do you really think that Nancy, Harry, Chris, Charlie, Barnie, et al, care about you? SEND THE MESSAGE-- You're FIRED. IN 2010 YOU WILL HAVE A CHANCE TO GET RID OF THE SITTING CONGRESS: Up to 1/3 OF THE SENATE, AND 100% OF THE HOUSE. MAKE SURE YOU'RE STILL MAD IN NOVEMBER 2010 AND REMIND THEIR REPLACEMENTS NOT TO SCREW UP. It is OK to forward this to your sphere of influence if you are finally tired of the abuse. Maybe it's time for the........ Amendment 28 "Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators or Representatives, and Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States." Let's get this passed around, folks - these people in Washington have brought this upon themselves!!! It's time for retribution. Let's take back America. If you don't forward this to all your friends you may be a part of the problem of national apathy. Login or Register to Remove Ads |

I see only one problem in voting them out...
It's always some other elected official that's doing a bad job, not mine! That's the mindset of most voters. We just had an election for a new mayor of Atlanta last month. Over 4 million people in the metropolitan Atlanta and only about 11,000 went out to vote! The blacks that have been voted in in the last 35 years has run the city into the ground! There was a chance to get a white lady in and the people wouldn't even vote for the change. The last mayor, a black female, has somehow lost over $3,000,000 and has no accounting for where it went. The new clown won't do any better! I'm glad I'm over 60 miles away from that sewer of a city and it's corrupt officials! .

As far as the original post goes, good luck, voters always tend to forget when it is time to hit the polls. They get sold on some tantalizing trinkets to keep them from remembering the true nature of the beast. (Sound familiar)

No psycho most of the time if you ask people why they didn't vote they will tell you it is because they strongly believe that their vote no longer counts or that there isn't anyone worth voting for. While I can agree it is often hard to choose betwen two bags of sh*t it is our responsibilty to try and pick the one that stinks less than the other. A sort of better of two evils in many cases.
In general the american public is to blame for the current state of affairs because TOO many people don't care enough to cast a vote. My wife did not vote in the last Bush election and whenever she tried to discuss it or complain about him I told her to shut up because she gave up her right to complain by not voting. I wish it could be the same for everyone. Login or Register to Remove Ads |

I have seen the US debt clock many times and I am truly amazed at those numbers. Very scary figures.

First: Of the 4+ million in the metro Atlanta area only about 450,000 are actually residents of the city of Atlanta. Second: The 11,000 or so votes mentioned were for a run-off between the top two vote recipients. Run-offs are almost always very low turn out. Now, notwithstanding the above, the turnout for the main election was still a small percentage of the registered voters. Personally, in this election I don't think it mattered one bit who won from the group that was running. Glad I don't live in Atlanta!

Look at Birmingham, AL and see what the blacks have done there. Birmingham is on the verge of bankruptcy and the Larry Lankford the last mayor will probably be going to prison.
Remember when Marion Berry was the mayor of Washington, D.C. and went to prison. Got out and got elected again. Guess they don't see that as a bad thing.

Don't forget ex-Atlanta-mayor Bill Campbell. Also a convicted felon now.
A-holes, the whole bunch of them!
