Rally Point for SENR Spring Rally '09
This is just my take on some places we could start from. Suches has some neat places that are motorcycle only places to stay while Helen has motels and such (it is 30 miles to Helen from Suches).
If you look at the other thread about the rally, I have some links in there for places in Suches and Helen has the standard and some other more unique places to stay. You can Google Helen, GA to see what is there.

They're just 30 miles from each other. After riding 730 miles does it really matter?
Guess it depends on the best lodging option... |

Joe, you kill me sometimes. I understand what you are saying. I kinda like the Suches deal for the motorcycle only places.

Suches does have a couple of nice motorcycle resorts but the activities are rather limited there. There is a bunch of stuff to do in Helen. Food and drink! Funnel cakes, miniature golf (have a tournament?), food and drink, ice cream stores, candy stores, outlet stores, a car museum, etc.

suches two wheel only has a nice camp ground/restaurant and is geared for a group like ours as far sitting around shooting the Todd (0r bull LOL ) just kidding big man ;). Helen is a great ride in/out place I don't really want to stay there but will do what ever, those are close enough to ride over and back home and then return the next day lol.

There are pros and cons for each. If most prefer Suches it may be possible to reserve the entire lodge at Two Wheels only depending on how many are going. That would be neat. Also there are two and three bedroom cabins within 4 miles that could be rented if more space is needed than what the lodge has.
One con for Suches, it's in a dry county. Bring your own refreshment of choice.

You guys can sleep in the woods, I'm too old and spoiled for that.
Give me a clean bed, hot shower, and a bottle of wine, and I'm happy. ;) |

It isn't the woods and you aren't old...just finely aged, like a good wine
