Margaritaville Ride From Tenn. Ky. GA. Ala.

Ok -- Ky ,Tenn. Ga -- Riders I am trying to get The Nomad Owners and friends on board to leave Knoxville / Maryville area for the ride to Margaritaville 2012 ride . I plan to ride down US 411 to Cartersville Ga take hwy 61 to hwy113 to hwy 278 at Rockmart GA to hwy 9 at Piedmont ALA to hwy 78 to US 431 to Opelika Ala Then I85 2 mile to exit 60 to hwy 169 back to US 431 to US 231 to Hwy 98 at Panama City and join rest coming from west. Its about 465 mile from Maryville to Panama City

Tom, I could hook up with you in Piedmont. US 431 runs right through my little town of Boaz but you are hitting 431 farther south than me.

I could try to plan on doing that. How long are you thinking about to get there (miles per day, how long of days riding)? I have not decided vacation days yet, so I may not have as many days as others. Best case, I will have two weeks, worst case I will have one. But riding non highways sounds good

From CLT I'm going 521 to 378 to 17 south. I'll pick up US 1 and or A1A south of Jacksonville for a leisurely ride down the beach.

I'm likin' that sound...I have done several stretches of 17 and it's good riding if you can avoid some of the little towns...you can always jump on the slab and knock out some miles real quick then jump back onto 17.

The ride from Myrtle down to Garden Corners, where it intersects 95 is a sweet ride. You go through the Marion National Forest then south of CHS out through the mudflats. I personally enjoy it every time. , and I've done it quite a few times.

The ride down 521 and 378 isn't so bad either. I just did it yesterday coming back from MB.

My wife and I are making plans for the National Rally, but I would sure like to make this ride too. I will see what I can do for plans and then I will contact you to hook up in Knoxville and ride down.

Departure from Knoxville will depend on the what day we have to meet those from the west in Panama City Beach Fla I plan on going down thru Ga Ala into Fla to the beach maybe get there a day before the group from the west arrive and the go east with them to St. Augstine

If anyone has a better idea how we should go just let me know and I can change it this keeps us off the Interstate and see some country can make changes if need to.

Looks Great Tom, but would probably take a couple of days to get there though. (not that there is anything wrong with that) We rode down to Destin a few years ago, close to that route except we took U.S.Hwy27 down to Columbus, and it took us most of a day to make it to Columbus where we spent the night. Would suggest chosing a half way point to spend the night???? (Just my .02)
