New Stuff for My Ride

I have one new item on order (Stebel Horn) and another just received...

Horn is electromagnetic one in chrome..bought one for each bike.

Received and tried out: bought from www.davidscottco.com
Raw gel seat pad....17 inches long, 14 inches wide, adn 1/2 inch thick...I tried it out today for about 25 miles, and after the first ten miles settled into it nicely and think it is gonna be a worthwhile investment....$64 plus shipping...I use it on top of seat adn cover it with a sheepskin pad...I was unable to go further on the ride because of threatening weather...
It is noticeably higher, but only at stops where I put my feet down..with only 29" inseam to work with, I could still flat foot but barely..Let's hope a longer ride will yield the same comfort and i Will report when i go further.

Regards,

Bob, wish I knew you wanted a gel seat pad I would have given you one that was given to me. Neighbor has it now, but could have got it for you to try.
IMO, as we talked the day we met, your getting higher and higher on a stock seat with all the pads and covers.
The stock seat already has the feeling of being on top of the bike rather than down into the seat.
Its your money and what ever works for you but IMO you are a prime candidate for a "seat custom made for you."

Bob, have you checked this guy out? It might prevent the height problem you seem to be getting. http://greatdaytoride.com/Home_Page.php

DkDixie adn GGhost...thanks for your apt comments..Dick, thanks for willingness to allow me to check out the gel pad...also, you are right on needing to be lower...

GGhost. I checked out the great day site and seems like I should at least give them a call..
Price is right..

Took longer ride this afternoon....Gel aint gonna make it...just isn't right..felt high and also felt like i was sliding forward in the seat..

Am undecided...might go custom and might go aftermarket...Some good buys on ebay on aftermarket seats....

I'll let you know as things develop.

Again, many thanks..

Bob, I know what you mean about the 29" inseam. I am 5' 8" and I always try to buy pants and jeans in 29 length. Have you noticed how difficult it is to find a 29 length in pants?

Ghost, thanks for the site. I checked it out and placed it in my favorites so I can check it out later.
