Clutch Oil Replacement
OK Guys...ya got me thru the oil change...but as I am reading about oil i saw that some oils could affect the clutch as it uses the same oil...
Question is this...should I have drained/filled the oil in the reservoir as well?? If so - how to plz:) Thx Derry Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Clutch Oil Replacement
Uh, there is no clutch oil reservoir, unless you mean the clutch master cylinder? The clutch assembly uses the crankcase oil. The clutch hydraulic system uses brake fluid.

Don't go past 3,000 miles without changing the air in your tires either!!

Clutch Oil Replacement
What ever you do DO NOT add oil to the brake or clutch masters.... !!!!!!!
Do Not use DOT 5 brake fluid either!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The correct fluid is DOT 4 in any brand you like. DOT 4 is for brakes and clutch hydralics and only for these systems.... DO NOT add brake fluid to oil anywhere else ever.. Do Not ever pull the engine oil drain plug and stuff a garden hose with water running into the engine to 'clean' engine sludge! Some fool did that, and with the water running in and the oil sludge water draining out started the engine, and when the water got high enough smashed the pistons to bits... Water does not clean engine sludge in the first place, and nothing else does either, but it isn't anything to even 'worry' about if oil changes are done regularly with in reasonable time, BECAUSE engine oils of today contain detergent. Now of course we all need 2009 air in out tires, which should be changed each season. I don't bother with winter air since I have 6 feet of snow in winter and can't ride, but I did refresh my Spring air and willo do summer air when the time comes.. Then Fall air i suppose

What about using humid air? Should I only do it when the humidity is at a certain level? Should I do it on the side stand or jack it up to do this? I'm worried now.
