A summer ride over the Sierras

This is a video of a 318 mile ride I did this summer.

Starting in the East Bay and riding over the California Sierras and along the eastern side.

Nice video Cliff
I was on all those roads last September with my riding friends from SoCal. We camped in Mammoth for 5 days.

I am most disappointed by not being able to get the video to play. I get a pop up that says "not able to display video at this time", or something like that. I'll try again later.

I have ridden the Sierras every year since I retired from the Navy in 2003. I grew up east of Sacramento and spent many of my high school years, camping, riding and driving in the Sierras. One of my favorite rides is on Hwy 49 out of Auburn, to Grass Valley and the Golden Chain Highway through Downieville, Sierra City and then turning south at Sierraville on 89 and the back door into historic Truckee. I believe I've done it 5-6 times.

Hopefully a full winter of snow in the Sierras will make it a beautiful ride again this year.

Got it. Nice. Now I'm going outside to stand in the pouring down rain and sleet and feel sorry for myself.

I am glad you got the video to work. I use that site so I can edit in the music I want and not worry that youtube will mute it because of copyrights.

I make these videos so when it rains and can't ride I can watch the videos instead.

It has been raining here much more than it has in the last few years, For the good.

Here is a link to more of my motorcycle videos from a couple of the VBA Rallies on youtube to help get thru the winter.

Good man and thank you. At least it's not going to snow tomorrow as originally forecast. No, wait.....A White Christmas is good.

Nice roads . Even with the odd obstacle standing in the middle. Was your camera on your helmet?

I use a cheap Sony HD Handycam mounted to the handle bars with a ram mount. I use a hand made hood to keep the glare out. It is very easy to use when riding.

In the past I have used remote controlled Gopro mounted on the rear of the bike. It is a pain to use when riding.

Thanks for sharing the videos Cliff. They helped make a rainy day brighter. Maybe someday I can get to the west coast and ride some of those roads.
