Mobil 1 15w50?

Okay. I know i am going to get beat up for starting "another" oil thread, but here goes. I am considering switching to Mobile 1 15w50 silver/gray cap on my next oil change. I would like to hear the opinions of those of you that have used it in your nomads.

Won't hurt anything, as good or better than anything. I have it in my nad and every other bike I've owned in the last 8 yrs. can't go wrong.

Is it hot where you are? You can blend it with 5/30 or 5/40 some and make your own blend...

15/50 is a hot full blown for summer in some real hot place blend.... Since I have no clue about where your at I can't say.

Pull that off about now in Maine and the lifters will starve for oil and so will the rest of the engine..

Mobil 1 15w50?

We ran Mobile 1 15/50 in all of our bikes for years. We started using Amsoil last summer. In my opinion as good as the Mobile 1 is over dino oil the Amsoil is that much better than the Mobile 1. I run the Amsoil for 6000 miles as opposed to 3000 miles with the Mobile 1.

Mixing 5/30 would be adding the energy conserving polymers which is a nono in motorcycles, it is the stuff that causes slipping clutches, the label on bottle must say non energy conserving. Your manual will say that 15/50 or 20/50 is good down to 20 deg and beyond 100 deg. So if your going to ride in weather under 25 deg F, use 10/40. If your garage is somewhat heated it wouldn't matter, oil is rated that way for cold starting ability.

I am not looking at a bottle as I type.. You for sure do not want any "EC" lable on any oil that works with a wet clutch!

So I am not certain which Mobile 1's I BLEND, but I don't ever run straight 15/50 in NH...

None labled "EC" that much is certain..

Don't know friends but I have been reading a lot about oils in motorcycles and the general consensus seems to be that automotive oils, while doing a fine job lubricating your metal, are not made with wet clutches in mind. Some even claim that automotive oils will "eat up" the clutch - well I'm not sure if that's not a bit dramatic. Oils for bikes have been discussed since I can remember and there will always be two (or more) opinions on it. I ran Mobil 1 in my Suzuki C50 and never questioned it once.

Anyway, I have made the determination that engine oil is about as cheap as is gets when it comes to maintenance so I am putting in Amsoil this season and the case is closed for me.

Mobil 1 15w50?

I live in north Florida and use Mobil1 15w50 year round. Also use Mobil1 oil filter (M108) Still hav ethe stock exhuast. If you have a after market use 110. I've used this oil for many years and have excellent results.

Mobil 1 is what I use (20-50) year round. Amsoil, while being a very good oil, is way pricey, and hard to find where I live. Mobil was the first company to commercially offer synthetic oil for the consumer public, and have been at it a long time. I think you will have no problems with it.
