Quick update on Netnorske

He and I are going to meet today near Declo Idaho on his trip to the SW Rally. He made it to LaGrande, Oregon yesterday afternoon and found a motel. He described the parking lot as "the size of two basketball courts." As he was rideing through the lot toward his room a car backed out of a space and hit him on the left side forward crash bar and highway peg. Knocked the bike over and bent the crash bar. He found a body shop open, it was 5:20pm, and they helped him straighten the crash bar. Bike is fine and his leg was a bit sore but other than that he says that he is okay.

He is supposed to meet Jared (Utah Motorcyclist) this afternoon in Ogden, Ut and Jared thinks they may be able to find a new crashbar at one of the Kawi dealers in the area.

I'm still planning to meet Kris at Declo mid-day and I will ride with him to Tremonton. That was our plan all along. I will post more this evening when I get home to update his status.

In a nutshell, he is fine, bike is fine, both slightly bruised but lucky.

Crap! I hope that's out only "incident" related to the SW Rally. Sorry Kris, wrong place at the wrong time. I'm glad you're okay!

I actually know where Declo, ID is Bud. Been there.

I'm in Ogden, Utah boys...meeting Jared and Tombstone in the morning for the run to Cortez.

Yeah it was freak thing...the bike is fine, just needs a new front left crashbar is all, but it is totally rideable after we bent it back out at the body shop. My right hamstring hurts like a bitch though as I was trying to hold the bike up as he was pushing it over with his car, straining the crap out of it! I'm having a tough time getting on and off the bike, but I'm fine while riding. Even walking is a challenge. I see some medicinal Tequila in my future!

I met Bud and his friend Jack (Honda Wing) today in Declo. We had a great ride and lunch....and Bud even picked up the tab! I think he felt sorry for me watching me trying to get a leg over my bike.... . I'm having to get on from the high side (left leg) since I can barely lift my right one. Thanks again Bud for coming down and meeting me!

I think it will get a bit better each day...lots of Icy-Hot, aspririn and booze can't hurt. If that's the worst thing that happens to me on this ten day run....I'll be a happy camper! Cortez or Bust!

Thanks for posting. Glade it was not too serious, but it is still a pain when something happens away from home.

Sorry about your bike, Kris - but just be thankful you're (relatively) okay. It could have been a lot worse. Take care of yourself and I'll see you tomorrow in Cortez.

WOW ! Kris. What the heck??? I'm glad you're Ok and that the bike wasn't a big fix. Here I'm posting good news about my fairing project here in Med. Hat and then I see this. Real sorry it happened. Were you on your own or was Trica with you?
Take care and I hope we get together soon, somewhere.
