Part of The Pig Trail is Closed

It's been raining so much here that the animals are starting to pair up.
Enough rain that a section of AR 23 is trying to slide down the hill.
The 5 to 6 inches of rain predicted this weekend won't help.
Hopefully it will dry up soon and repairs can be made before the rally.
If not we will need to rethink the rides a bit.
There isn't any slight detour on pavement to get around this stretch of road.

The rain has been crazy here this spring too...

We've got a month. Hopefully it dries up a bit.

With the Wakarusa Music Festival starting on June 4 I thought the AHTD would be working hard to get some sort of detour made.
This is a major event with thousands of people attending.
Their idea is to take 16 to 21 or 71. Hope they didn't spend much time thinking that up.
It's only about an hours ride for me. I'll ride up there prior to the rally and have a look.

UPDATE...............

Although a long term fix for the highway is still months away,
the good news is that crews have been able to get the southbound lane open.
Temporary traffic lights will control North/South traffic over the 3.2 mile stretch that is reduced to one lane.
This will slow things down a little but the road is passable and those wanting to ride the Pig Trail can.

Hat's off to the AHTD for getting this done rather quickly.

Yeah, it's suppose to rain like hell for a few days this week.
Should clear out by the weekend. Hopefully sunny next week.
