I'm doing the CaddmanQ dual air intake mod...DONE!
Well, after FAR more work than it should have been, I located a frickin' marble in my area. OK, so I had to buy a 160-pc set for $7 to get 1 stinkin' marble out of it, but I don't care. I've been Jones'g to do this mod for a while now and now I have all the parts/pieces (including a back-up set of air filters).
I have an appointment set for 9a.m. this coming Thursday at Jett Tuning in Camarillo to get the custom map done to my PCIII. I'll post before/after results afterwards. I'm kind of nervous about doing the mod. It's a bit "out of the box" for me, but what the heck, I'm going for it!! Wish me luck and stay tuned, Daryl Login or Register to Remove Ads |

It is always an adventure to stray out of your comfort zone. Your adventure will be interesting to read. According to some people on this site you may find that your power commander will be set to near unity in the end. Let us know how it works out.

It will help the engine breath better and the increase of power will be noticed at the higher end of the rpm scale. I had done the caddman/ cobra exhaust and fuel management job myself. I was pleased with the slight noticeable increase. The fuel consumption increase was also noticed. My friend has the Vulcan and I have the nomad. Both are fitted with the same type of systems more or less. He gets 39 to 40 mpg and i get 36 to 37mpg, this has been checked and rechecked and even if I leaned my settings 38 was the best i could do (you probably know but don't run lean). We can only guess that it is due to my riding style, i ride quite a bit more aggressive.
On a side note his brother was on a brand new 2007 Road Glide (6 speed,approx 1600cc) he was at the 40 to 41 mpg and in a drag from 60mph onward was able to pull away from me(slowly |

Used "Constrictor's" awesome pictorial/ tutorial and got the job done in very short order. Thursday Gollum gets custom mapped!

Sounds like alot of money spend for a slight improvement in power, but its everybody choice of course. Only my humble opinion.

I won't ride it except to the shop on Thursday for the custom map. It'll be running lean, so it'll be a mellow 3-mile trip to the shop before it gets its treatment! Let you know afterward... Trip, It IS a bit costly, but I guess I just have a "thing" about letting the motor "be all it can be". I may only get 5-10hp more out of it for the $350 invested in parts and custom map, but to me it's worth it to drive a bike that's setup for maximum performance that it can do given the mod's I've afforded it. I did the same with my Suzi C50T and really loved how the bike rode after virtually the same mods. The irony here is that I'm not a speed demon and I don't "drive it like you stole it". Like the '59 Ford F-100 I made into a street mod, I guess I just like to max-out with the mod's that I do have onboard. I appreciate and respect your opinion wholeheartedly and always welcome them. Daryl, I don't know if you have seen this thread but you might want to read through it.
http://kawanow.proboards77.com/index...ead=1199219604 The opened air intake can greatly affect the air temp sensor and cause the ECU to dump more fuel. That is why I am curious about your experience with this mod and the new control module.

I go to Jett Tuning in Camarillo for the custom map/dyno work. The owner/chief mechanic is a long-time rider (John Ethell)and is also DynoJet certified. He did my Suzuki C50T twice (changed my pipes to 2:1's). He really takes his time and lets me go into the booth with him as he explains what he's doing and what's going on with the bike.
