Enjoying the Nomad

Edit: many thanks for your answer, now I can use tapatalk app, I can post photos ........ as seen on later posts.

Not sure how to place photos so I will include a link to my instagram....if there's a way to show photos on here, please point me in the right direction.

Thoroughly enjoying my Nomad, been on a couple of, for me, longer excursions.

The first one was a few weekends ago with my honee to Golden, Lorraine drove the van so we could set up a base camp whilst I rode the bike. Then Lorraine hopped on the back and we explored yoho national park. Then enjoyed white water rafting.

This was my first 'long' ride on the bike.

Enjoying ride to emerald lake with honee on the back

First real experience of riding 2up for any great distance. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Then 2 weekends ago we went to the Toad Rock MC campground on the west side of Kootenay lake..... what an experience.

With 'Dave' the van again serving as base camp we then explored Nelson and stopped off at Leather & Steel shop in Fruitvale.

The ride is awesome and I have set a target of exploring the Selkirk loop over the remainder of the season.

There's even a resident there that is unique

This weekend, I'll be heading into Montana for a lone overnighter (hammock, tarp and bike).... the first of many I hope

The aim is to explore the Yaak River Run.

Or use Tapatalk from your phone to upload images directly from the phone to the post.

You can also create albums with your favorite photos.

Went out on a solo mission. Completed the Yaak River Run and returned via Libby and highway 37 to Eureka then through the border and home.

Terrific ride, wonderful scenery.

Fabulous place to stay in Yaak..... the shameless oasis, right on the river front, great prices.....definitely worth checking it out.

Stopped by the Kootenai Falls on the way back.

Great weekend.

Here's a couple of pics from the shameless oasis

There's an outdoor kitchen pavilion.

They've only been there since February and still building the lodging business.

Enjoying the Nomad

Been a busy August with a family wedding and then the wildfires, so it was awhile before I could get back out for a report worthy ride.

A riding buddy, D, solo's every year. She rides a Vulcan 900, and this years trip was a ride from here in BC to Wyoming to watch the eclipse.

D had seen my photos and thought we should go for a ride to swap stories.... she knew of a great burger joint.... so suggested a ride to grab a burger and swap stories.

"Oh and make sure you bring a passport" she reminded me Friday.
Me: "errr...... ok?!?"

Saturday morning we met at the Chevron in downtown Cranbrook.

We were heading south into Idaho.

She was taking me on the Clark Fork run.......... awesome.

We stopped at lake ponderay (not how it's spelt, but how it's pronounced.)

Superb lakeside run with a big bald eagle spotted overhead. Unfortunately I was riding so couldn't get the picture.

We stopped at the lakeside...... unfortunately the conditions were smoky, but we still had a great view.

We stopped in Clark Fork, and swapped stories over a pretty decent burger and fries.

Spot the odd ones out, or as D said "we're the cool kids on the end"

But the highlight of the trip was the next section.....MT highway 56...... what a superb ride through the valley, the meadows and river meandering throughout with mountains to die for.

The next stop on her ride was The Halfway House..... nice place, with camping out back (incredible, D had stopped there a number of times but never got passed the bar)

..... the camping area behind the inn was 8 acres of awesome

I did not get many pictures on this ride, I was just enjoying the ride...... but I will be returning...... it's too good a place not to.

I zeroed this before I left..... not a bad days ride..... kms by the way.

I'm already looking forward to my return......and since we join the highway and go through Troy, it links up quite nicely to the ride through Yaak...... so my thought is to combine the two rides, with an overnighter either at The Shameless Oasis with Marty in Yaak or at the halfway house in that stunning parkland.

What a great Saturday.

Toy Run today with the Harley Davidson crew.
A fun run for a good cause.

Great copilot eh?

Quick group shot

Stop at the Wasa Pub for lunch

All told, just shy of 242km - great way to spend a Sunday.

With the end of our season coming upon us, want to grab as many rides as we can, short or long.

A fraction fresh to begin with, but the sun was shining, so today was a shorty but a goody 😉

Ending at the Bull River Pub for a warm up
