Fairings

I just found a site for fairings (reckless.com) that actually seem within my price range. They are fiberglass, if that matters. I wonder if any of you have purchased a fairing from these folks, for a 1600 Nomad or any similar bike?

The reckless fairings are a favorite among the group here. That and the Premeux are probably the most popular with direct bolt on kits available. There is also a discount given to VBA members from reckless. Remember that forum membership is not a VBA membership.

Dude, I really hate to be that guy... but did you search? There are a TON of posts about Reckless on here. Lots of people, myself included, have and love them. There is a plethora of information already on the board that is much quicker than starting a new thread.

Bottom line, great quality at a great price.

Reckless has sold dozens, if not hundreds of fairings to members here.

I've found that I am rarely the first person to ever find out information on any new product, and if I am the first person to hear about it, its probably a piece of garbage anyways. I tend to research just about anything I plain on buying so that I know more than the salesman. I want to know the benefits, the drawbacks, how hard to install, what features do I like, what features can I add for cheaper, effect on gas mileage... etc etc...

You should also look at Wide Open Customs ( www.wideopencustom.com/)

I had one on my 1500 Nomad and I really liked it. I was attracted to it because of it's one piece construction (2 pieces of plastic welded together) and the fact you can use 6" phat risers with it. Its weather cover also conveniently slides up out of the way for manual adjustment of the radio. It is a quality piece and I highly recommend it.

BAM! I did NOT do my homework and for that I apologize! I'd say it'll never happen again, but that's probably not 100% true. Thanks for the great info guys!
