Saddlebag Top Rails
Has anyone found aftermarket or other make oem top rails that fit the bulbous, rather ugly saddlebags on a 2014 1700 ABS? I bought a set that was said to fit the 1700, but they turned out to be for the 1600's and will not work on the multi-curved top of the 1700 bags.

Great question. I have read many times they crack the fiberglass at the drill holes if you ever put any weight on them. But I have only read that, never experienced it since I do not have them.
Seems the stock OEM parts are getting very hard to order if they are available at all from Ma Kaw. SO sad.

i went with the Cobra rails and trunk rack . the saddlebag guards are mostly just to protect from boot scuffs and cost about 125

I put a set of these OEM saddlebag rails on mine. I like that they make the shape of the bags appear just a little bit more defined, not so rounded, bulbous, or ugly

I do see that those bag rails I linked to are in the UK, and they and the shipping are both expensive. A search of Ebay in the USA seems to confirm that they're not available there? Gone the same way as the rear speakers and Ipod connection, maybe?
Using that part number, K53020185, you might find them somewhere, I guess.
