Another Meet and Greet

I finally got to meet and ride with Jim McFarlane (fakebikerdude) from Tacoma. We have been trying to get together for awhile but things kept getting in the way. He called me earlier this week and we finally got to hook up.

We met at Patty's Eggnest in Everett for breakfast then rode up to the Cycle Barn in Arlington to ogle the Voyager (again). As soon as we rode in we saw a Red/Black '08 Nomad and I thought maybe John Biddle was there, but it was another guy named Jeff. We immediately hit him up with a KawaNOW business card and gave him the soft sell, but I doubt we will hear from him as he has no usable email address he said (bummer).

From the Cycle Barn we rode some of my favorite back-roads through Arlington and Granite Falls down to Monroe, Sultan, Duvall, Carnation and finally Fall City, where we had a nice lunch before heading our separate ways.

I was curious to see how Jim's hard lowers looked and see how he liked them, which he does. He and his soon-to-be bride are hoping to make it to Kalispell for the NW Rally....and I'm hoping they do too! Anyone who rides and '08 Blue/Silver Nomad and listens to the same four radio stations I do just HAS to be a good guy.... ;)!

I have enjoyed the chance to meet more of the members here lately, and will be glad-handing more along my route to Cortez (SW Rally) and back as well. Mike Mara from Tri-Cities is planning to meet me in Yakima next Friday and ride back towards Tri-Cities as I head toward La Grande, OR. The next day I am hoping to hook up with Bud (whom I've already met) in Idaho for some miles....

I am also planning a lunch/ride meeting with Randy (duneseven) in Spokane on my return voyage on Sat June 19, so that should be fun. As your KawaNOW NW Ambassador, I will try to spruce myself up as best I can as that will be day 9 of a 10 day road trip and I might look a little road-weary by then.... ;) ! Looking forward to a great summer and meeting many more of you in Kalispell if not sooner!

Kris and Jim....

You are a lucky guy Kris, putting on all those miles. By the way, where did you find that sunshine in the pics?? Seems like a rare commodity these days.

Lol....indeed....today was a dandy....warm even! I too am tired of the wet stuff. The weather down in Cortez is already in the high 80's-low 90's.... !!! Did you get all your stuff moved yet?

I'm envious, my friend. Enjoy your trip to Cortez.

We have moved a lot of stuff already. By Wednesday night the house will be empty. Moving sucks!! :(" title="" border="0"/>

Hey we did have a great time. As Kris said anyone who listens to the same four radio stations I do has to be a good guy...and the perfect motorcycle too. I now have trunk envy...not sure how I'm gonna sell that one to Tammi. Looking forward to meeting more folks from the NW. As we were cruising down Evergreen Way in Everett on our way to see the USS Abraham Lincoln, I turned to Kris at a stop light with a big grin and just said, "We are Gods!"

Just tell her a new trunk will allow her to bring more "stuff".

Oh, something for her...that just means more schlepping for me.

You will like them. Easy to paint and install. I think they make the Nomad look even more robust.
