clutch spring

Is there any other description other than the "Gadget" one available, on changing out the clutch spring? I've seen some threads here but the "search" here doesn't seem to do a great job. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

What more information do you need? I used the procedure from Gadget's page when I did mine. If there's something specific, I can maybe help you out.

In other words, what CJ is trying to say in his own 'delicate' way. Print off the instructions on Gadgets page. Sit down and read them slowly. Several times if needed, then have those instructions in hand when you start work on the bike. Take it slow and you will be okay.

Gadgets instructions are as good as they come. Read them a couple times before you start and you should have no problems at all, unless you have a crappy impact gun.

Just start taking it apart, it will all become clear as you go... nothing like "hands on" to really see what's on in there. But be CAREFUL, don't move that.. watch out for those.... don't bump that or else.... don't untighten those.... But other than that, it's easy!!!

gee! thanks 58.... I just wondered if there was anything out there to read that might be comparable to Gadget's inst ructions. That web site has always been good for me. but more info is better,......right? And this Barnett spring is the way to go? Does a guy order online or try and get something from the dealer?

Figured I'd post this here, rather then start a new thread. Installed the Barnett mt25 spring today. I have a meanie spring on standby...not ready for judges washers yet (newer rider). I have to say, I was really surprised at the difference in feel on the clutch now. Much stiffer and the hookup is fantastic. It took about 43 seconds to get used to it. I am now in clutch heaven! I was really surprised at the amount of wear on my original spring(stock) with only 6500 miles on the bike, but I did learn of this bike, so most of it could be from operator error. I racked up 4000 miles on my Nad since late last September....I love this bike....does it show?

Wanted to add...it was very easy to do. took me about an hour..although..I am a mechanic(car)

I was just trying to find out if there was information you thought you needed that might not have been in Gadget's instructions.

The most difficult part of the job is getting the nut that holds the clutch assembly loose. Not a big deal if you have access to a decent air compressor and 1/2" impact wrench.

I'm just kidding you Scott. No worries !! I just saw what Idaho said and went for a ride on that.. Just a joke.
I'm still trying to decide if I need to even do this......yet. I don't feel it slipping. At the #5 setting on the clutch lever, it seems to be a little further out than what I thought it should be.

What I hate about doing things like this is cutting ties, removing things that are attached to other parts/pieces. To do the hands on stuff I have no problems.
