walmart batt charger

Im I going crazy? I picked up the schumacher battery charger, the 1.5 amp trickle charge job. looking at the jumper cables ect I was thinking I could make another "plug in" to put a power port on if I am ever in a jam. following what the positive lead is off the battery, plugging in the supplied jumper cable leads the positive lead flip flops to the other side. So off the battery, it's the black and white lead, through the plug the black and white lead is now going to the negative jumper cable clamp. is this normal?

ya know what. I think re-reading this I figured it out.. haha. the little jumper cable lead will be correct when hooked to the charger, but as I was thinking out to put a power outlet plug on it, I hooked the jumper cables up to the lead that goes to the battery. in order for the plug to fit you must have to turn around, which would switch the + and - side.
