Steering Bearings
Hey folks. Hang around alot, post alittle. Any one do the tapered bearing conversion on the steering neck? A company called "All Balls" makes tapered bearings for the 1600 Nomad. wondering if it is worth it. my stock bearings are shot.
Thanks P.S. 2007 1600 Nomad

Steering Bearings
Ive heard of them but have never used them. A lot of the Gold Wing riders use those bearings and like them.

What is the advantage to using them?

They are supposed to be a good quality bearing from what Ive read. Its not really a conversion to install them on our bikes, since Nomads already have tapered bearings. Its just an aftermarket brand.

Those are the one's I have in mine (AllBalls). They are tapered roller bearings. I got mine from Dennis Kirk, but you might find them cheaper by shopping around.

I have some "All balls" wheel bearings in the front wheel. They are made from a company in China called KML, which appears to be a large bearing manufacturer. Mine have held up good for 1000 miles.
