Bike and I went down

Wrecked my bike late August and havnt really been able to write about it much online. Been too depressed and embarrassed. I just got some road rash out of it, and the bike is ok I think. Just cosmetic damage though it does seem to be knocking a little in the engine. But I did ride it down the road the other day and shifted through all the gears and seemed to ride fine.

I'm trying to replace parts on it now. Starting with lightbar and engine guard. Ive been looking at the Cobra light bar online but I am having some trouble finding the engine guard. The ones I had were two piece but I cant find any two piece online. I checked with Cobra and the say they dont have two piece for the Nomad.

Just wondering what you folks were using. Mine were already on the bike when I got it.

Hey Kawiman, welcome back to the forum. That's why they call them accidents, $hit happens. Hope you are back enjoying the wind in your face and the bugs in your teeth real soon. I think (once in awhile) that there are a lot of options for the engine guards. I would have to look at mine but I believe it is one piece. Best of luck with your purchases.

We've all been there with the fall, glad to hear your OK. Bars came with the bike so you'd have to go to makaw for replacement. Going into winter, keep checking ebay, something will show up on there before next Feb or March I'll bet ya.

Oh man, I didnt even think about them coming with the bike. Maw Kaw gunna rip me a new one I suspect. I gotta replace the bag guards too, and the latch handles on the bags. All in all I guess I need not complain, could have been alot worse! Fortunately I was the only idiot involved. ::)

Thanks guys, I appreciate you making me feel better about it. But I figure as long as I keep feeling stupid it will make me more careful. ;)

Like caddman said, Ebay will most likly have all the parts you need just e patient.
If i were to replace my front bars i would try to get a Lind Bar. I don't know if they make them for the Nomad but they look real nice and I don't think they interfer with larger lowers.
I haven't checked any of this, I am rambling

Is your bike green and silver? If so is the ft fender any good, because mine is trash.. I could use a good one off your bike.... Ya see there was this Moose........

Geeze get over yerself, and search on e-bay...

I have kissed the Earth un-expectedly a few more times than I liked, but I always talked about it. But then I gotta big mouth anyway......

Thanks Top Cat. Actually there is a Linde bar for the Nomad. I remember seeing it somewhere. I like the looks of them but I also like the idea of adjusting my pegs if I want to. I guess you could put pegs on the Linde too but it might look kinda funky then.

Sorry macmac,,mine is black/silver. I'm gunna be checking with E-Bay as suggested.

By the way I may as well throw in a plug for Scootworks. I called them about getting a harware kit for my risers since the bolts were bent and she gave me a little discount because of the wreck. Also told me to check back with them if I needed any other parts because they were always getting in crashed bikes! Guess they are running a junkyard on the side ??? Anyway the lady I talked to was very nice. I would recommend them to anyone!

Hmmmm I wonder if they have any decent ft fenders already in paint. I can fix the fender and I can paint it, but i can't fix it and paint it to factory cheaper than I can buy one new.

been thinkin on just my own paint, but that Nomad refuses top speak to me.. You would to if I introduced you to a Moose!

Glad you're getting over it.

Embarrassed? Best thing you can do is to let your unluck help the rest of us. Can you critique what happened? And try to answer --realistically -- what you would do differently in the same situation.

(Now if it involved intentionally laying it down, you might want to brace yourself.)
