Front end clunk

I'm riding an '07 Nomad, all stock. Whenever I ride over uneven pavement or a pot hole, I hear a metalic "clunk" sound coming from the front end fork area. Dealer confirmed the noise, took the front end apart and checked everything. They found nothing wrong. Anyone out there have the same problem?

Mine is noisier than I would have expected (being a new rider), but non-metallic sounding.

You may be hearing your front telescoping forks extending to the end of the throw, creating a less than pleasing sound.

Others have reported the wiring junction box in your headlight could be loose and moving about. Pull the front of the headlight off and duct tape the box to the inside of the headlight housing.

Good luck.....

Go to Gadget's fix it page, look under general tips "did you know". The second paragraph addresses the clunk from the front end.

Yep, sounds like H/L bucket connectors to me.

Exactly, my 07 did the same thing. It was the wires in the headlight bucket banging around.

If the wires in the headlight bucket aren't the problem check the radiator housing. I had to put a piece of foam insulation on the inside on my 06.

Both my 800B and 1600 have this issue. Helped some to address the H/L wiring but the clunking not completely gone in the Nomad.
